Major Changes:

In the 2008 Lehman Brothers crisis, ICICI found itself in the middle of the catastrophe. It tore up the very
ICICI structure she grew up with.

Then she identified the three C’s which were the heart of the problem and worked on it. Those 3 C’s are
:-

a) Poor Composition of Low-Cost Deposits (CASA);

b) Bad Credit Quality;

c) Capital Conservation.

She decided to open a commercial bank for the private sector.

She transformed the bank from a product centric mode to a customer centric one.

She was also one of the bankers who came up with electronic banking and installed 2000 ATM machines
all over India.

She moved from corporate banking to retail banking as the Customer Credit market was still very new to
India in order to handle 50% of the business.

In 2000, she decided to keep the bank open for twelve hours in a day when other banks were open for
four to seven hours a day.
