Comida

PIÑA COLADA
The piña colada was named as the national drink in the 70s. And of course, if they have
sugar cane on hand to make rum!

This cocktail has had various modifications over time, but the original has three basic
ingredients: coconut, pineapple and rum.

EL COQUITO
The coquito is a drink that is prepared for special occasions in Puerto Rico. This drink is so
refreshing and creamy that they even sell it bottled on Puerto Rican streets.

Its ingredients include rum and coconut cream. Some people can also add evaporated and
condensed milk. When they prepare it with egg yolks, it is common for them to call it
punch.
TEMBLEQUE
The tembleque has the consistency of a coconut flan or jelly and is a tradition in Puerto
Rican parties.

Each family has its own recipe for trembling, but they agree in adding sugar and vanilla to
a base made with coconut.

To garnish they use cinnamon powder, and it is one of the favorites and most special
desserts in Puerto Rico.
