Dear Visa Officer,

My name is Dean Michael and I am applying for a Student Visa to study in

Canada.

My journey to come to this decision has been years in the making. When I
was younger, I dreamed of becoming a successful ship captain and
working in the maritime world when I got older. I was so eager to make
this dream of mine come true, and I enrolled at John B. Lacson
Foundation Maritime University. After completing my Bachelor in Maritime
Transportation, I looked forward to finally starting my career. I was
hopeful and enthusiastic at first, and immediately applied for jobs in the
maritime field, and then I was hired on my first experience as an ordinary
seaman. Enjoying the field, as I thought so, after finishing my contract on
my local maritime career I applied for an international maritime
endeavour and luckily I was hired. However, I wasn’t able to finish my
contract; I eventually realized that the maritime world was not the field I
really wanted. While soul searching for my future career I applied for a job
unrelated to my course and I was hired as a manager in a restaurant. To
fill out some of my time while working I enrolled on a TESDA course
Caregiving NCII, with a plan to work abroad as a caregiver. Although, as I
delve deep in working as a manager I realized that management is my
forte. With that, investing in a school abroad would give me a higher
chance of working on a more prestigious company here in the Philippines.

Coincidentally, one of my friends mentioned this school in Canada called

ACSENDA SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT VANCOUVER, I was curious about
it, and soon I learned that they offered many management courses. I was
so excited the more I learned about it, and was so eager to hear that they
even have co-op programs that allowed you to train with real companies
and employers in the field. I checked all the course descriptions, and
there I see the course I really love to take. Of course, I jumped at the
opportunity to apply, and for the first time, I thought that maybe my real
dreams may actually come true.

Knowing that the program in ACSENDA SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

VANCOUVER is a lot more costly than studying in Philippines, however, it
is worth it because it would give me exactly the type of experience I
could bring back to the Philippines and excel in the career I always
dreamed of. Right now, given the situation with the pandemic,
unemployment and closing of business including the one I work with had
me really decided to pursue my studies again, and right now it is in the
field of management. With a combination of both international studies and
training. I could finally be an eligible candidate for higher positions back
home even though this crisis will be here for long. I also know that if I use
this experience in my future work, I could become a more valuable
worker contributing to the Philippines economy. I could share my
knowledge of what works in Canada, and may also be implemented in the
Philippines.

My big plan is to go back to the Philippines once I finish my studies and

apply to firms and companies at higher positions using my experience as
my competitive edge. I know it will be a bit of a sacrifice for me because
my whole family is back in the Philippines, but I look forward to seeing
them again after my studies. Although I have enough funds to cover my
stay in Canada, one of our family friends offered to provide free
accommodation at their place with them during my stay. I also have the
full support of my mom and my aunt who is a British citizen now, as well
all my family. I have already paid the down payment for my tuition, and in
addition have savings and bank accounts both in Philippines and Canada
for my living expenses. I thank you for your consideration, and I look
forward to starting an education here in Canada.

Sincerely,

Dean Michael Otian
