Q.1. What is Excel?
Ans – Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program. A spreadsheet
program works with numbers, text and formulas used for
mathematical, financial and scientific purposes. It also
contains functions and charts of different types .it is a
large sheet of rows and columns use for calculation and
data interpretation.

Q.2. What the advantages are of excel?

Ans - There are several advantages of using excel:
* Entering data is fast.
* Making a change is simple.
* Formulas automatically recalculate the result when the
data values are changed.
* Calculations are easy and accurate.
* Large amounts of data can be handled easily.
* Data can be presented graphically through various
charts.
Q.3. Write down the steps to start Excel?
Ans - Click on the start buttonprogramsMicrosoft office
Microsoft excel 2007.
The Excel screen appears.

Q.4. what is workbook?

Ans -1. A workbook is a collection of a worksheet.
2. When a new workbook is opened by before it
displayed three blank sheet.

Q.5. what is worksheet?

Ans - A worksheet represent the working area on the screen. it
is the area where the data is entered and the
calculations are performed .it is divided into rows and
columns.
Q.6. How many rows & columns are there in excel sheet?
Ans - i. A worksheet has millions of rows and thousands of
columns.
ii. The rows are numbered from top to bottom.
iii. The column are labeled from left to right.

Q.7. What is cell?

Ans - The intersection or crossing of a column and a row is
called a cell. For example, the cell A4 is the intersection
of column A and row 4.

Q.8. What is cell address?

Ans -The cell address corresponds to the column name and the
row name. Each cell has a unique address .For example:
B3, B10, and K14.
Q. 9. What is formula bar?
Ans - The formula bar is located above the work area of the
spreadsheet .The formula bar display the data or formula
stored in the active cell . The formula bar can be used to
enter or edit a formula, a function or data in a cell.

Q. 10. Name the types of data that can be enter into cell.
Ans - In an excel worksheet ,we can enter three types of data ,
i] Numbers
ii] Text
iii] Formulas
