 AN OLIMPIC CITY

Before the 1992 Olympics, Barcelona wasn't the city we know today. The
downtown was beautiful, but the port area was old and dirty. Before the
Olympics games, there was a small beach, but it wasn't very popular.

Now the city is different. There are new sports centers, hotels and good
beaches. The port is a great place to go shopping or eat out. There are a lot
more tourists, tool! in 1990, there were about 1.7 million visitors, but now
there are about 7 million visitors every year.

Yes, because, the Olympic Games are one of the most important events
worldwide, today bringing together millions of people who meet every four years in
a city previously selected to play different sports and activities.

across the planet and brings economic tourism and sports development for a city
