Main Achievements:
i. Given direction for the institutionalization of the digitalisation of teaching and learning at UMI;
 Chairperson Covid19 transition task force at UMI- Team lead the acquisition of the
institutional online learning National Council of Higher Education accreditation transiting the
whole institute; 31 postgraduate programmes and 300 modules including postgraduate
Diplomas Masters and PhDs to the online mode of delivery.
 I pride myself to over 200 faculties and 3000 student online learning capacity development
for a sustainable national management capacity development especially in the period of
Covid19 in the East African region.
 Mapped out the feasibility of Technology enabled learning of UMI
 Initiated and Team led the development of the UMI institutional Technology enabled learning
Policy in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL)
 Initiated and Team led the development of UMI institutional Open Distance Learning Policy
in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL)
 Team led the development of Distance Learning Departmental Strategic Plan
 Innovation and technology integration framework for teaching and learning such as Mobile
MOODLE platform, WhatsApp, Podcasts, Videos and online student support system, etc
 Consultatively restructured the Distance learning department to improve efficiency

ii. Team lead the acquisition of the UMI Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL) National Council of
Higher Education accreditation transiting the whole institute Online; 31 programmes and 300 modules
including postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and PhDs to the online mode of delivery.

iii. Coordinated & facilitated Staff and students Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL) Capacity
Development workshops. I pride myself to over 200 faculties and 3000 student ODEL capacity
development for a sustainable national management capacity development in the East African
region.

iv. Worked on Higher Education Science & Technology (HEST) project under the African
Development Bank(ADB) to coordinate the e-content conversion of two UMI postgraduate
diplomas and staff pedagogical capacity development.

v. Carried out a Baseline Study on Technology-Enabled Learning at Uganda Management Institute

vi. Under the partnership of the Common wealth of Learning, i coordinated and facilitated alongside
two international scholars(Prof Ngambi Dick & Andrew Moore ) from the University of Cape
town, a workshop of twenty (20) lecturers to integrate technology enabled learning in the 19
MBA modules

vii. Revitalised the regional Video conference short courses at Uganda Management Institute to over
thirteen(13) African countries under the Association of African Development learning Centre
(AADLC)
viii. Initiation, pursed and developed collaboration and partnership with other Higher learning
institutions and organization; initiated partnership between Uganda Management Institute (UMI)
& Commonwealth of Learning (attracted over USD.60,000) for the blended learning policy
development workshops, Technology enable learning policy and Capacity building workshop ),
London South Bank University, AMITY University as well as working relationship with
Makerere University, Kyambogo University and University of Cape Town.

Main Achievements:
 Revitalization of Health Manpower Development Center (HMDC):
 Leveraged Heath Manpower Development Centre(HMDC) as a satellite campus, and 16 Continuous
Professional Development centers were interconnected to develop Leadership and Management
capacity of over 1000 health workers at the their duty stations in the sub regions of West
Nile(8districts) and Rwenzori(8districts ) in Uganda.
 Designed, developed and Implemented E-learning programmes in the health sector basing on the
training needs assessments of the health regional communities such as Gender & Health Human
Rights training programme.
 Guided HMDC on accreditation for the e-learning courses run by National Council for higher
Education.
 Developed and implemented technology usage framework that guided the pedagogical integration of
ICTs in the learning /teaching of HMDC
 Developed and implemented a reliable online learners support system
 Staff pedagogical capability development in using and managing technology at HMDC
 Research and paper presentation at international conferences.

 Transformation of HMDC into a self-accounting, semi-autonomous Health Management Institute


 Organized and facilitated Stakeholders workshops and analysis

Ms Mwogeza Resty Kamya is an e-learning specialist. Her academic, research and consultancy career in the
aforementioned areas is growing at an appreciable rate. She has been involved in several national, regional
consultancies mainly from Commonwealth of learning, Belgian Development Agency- Enable, African
Development Bank (ADB), IGAD- Tre nova East Africa and United Nations Volunteers. Selected
assignments include:
i. Principal investigator in a project to integrate Technology Enabled Learning at Uganda Management
Institute funded by the Commonwealth of learning. July 2017 – Feb 2018
ii. Team leader on a project for the development of the policy for Technology enabled Learning at Uganda
Management institute funded by the Commonwealth of learning. November 2017
iii. Team leader in a project to develop faculty (20 staff ) capability in designing (19 modules ) and
teaching using Technology enabled learning for over 200 students population at Uganda Management
