Sensory experience through Imagery

Imagery is what the writers want their readers to “see” what is in their mind as they write. They
“paint a picture” with their words so readers will be able to visualize their experience, too.
Visual Imagery appeals to or represents the sense of sight.
Tactile / Kinesthetic Imagery appeals to or represents the sense of touch.
Auditory Imagery appeals to or represents the sense of sound.
Gustatory Imagery appeals to or represents the sense of taste.
Olfactory Imagery appeals to or represents the sense of smell.
