Is Education too commercialized nowadays?

Commercialization of education means advertising the product (schools, playschools, universities) in a

way that appeals to the consumer (student and parent). The money put in advertising and
infrastructural investment in keeping with the advertisement is then remitted to the consumers. The
commercialization of education makes effort to provide quality education to the students and also offer
more demanding courses in the modern society. ... The commercialization institution provides good
learning environment, good infrastructure facility, good teachers etc.

The commercialization of education focuses only on the profit-making ability of the education sector. It
transforms the education sector into a business. Many schools for example have canteens and cafes
which provide schools with an opportunity to make more money. This is a perfect example of
commercialization.

Commercialization of education helps in the process of economic development. Commercialization in

education helps in increasing the rate of literacy, Gross Domestic Product, Gross national Income, per
capital income, provide the job opportunity etc.

They are neither concerned about the education system nor are they concerned and alarmed with the
future of the students. Nevertheless, deprioritizing the education, the schools and colleges are providing
the students with additional valuable amenities and however charging them extra for those by
incrementing the fees of the tuition, which is already very high, and eventually the administrations are
earning high profits. These strategies of the business result in making the education system
underprivileged therefore students are not being able to determine new activities nor can they learn
creatively and as an outcome, they are not gaining any actual knowledge.
