WORK METHODOLOGY.Jecg 1, OBJECTIVE The purpose of this method statement is to describe the process, during the construction, for precast U-drains installation works, 2. SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work for this method statement is to install precast U-drains in accordance to the specification, dimensions, setting oui and site preparation as er design drawings. 3. REFERENCE DOCUMENT ‘The installation works shall be constructed in conformance to the followings: © Contract Drawing + Contract Specification for Road Works; Section 3-Drainage Works = IR SSRW * 8.0 Instruction 4, WORK METHODOLOGY ) Surveyor shall mark out the aignment of drain according to the construction drawing with invert level. b} Prior to excavation works, the alignment and invert level of drain shall be confirmed and approved by $.0. ¢] Temporary droinage shall be provided olong the consiruction site (where necessary) to drain out the surface water. d} Excavator wil excavate accordingly to the required depth of drainage. ©) Precast U-drains shall be laid on sand bedding. However, in bad ground, it is Recessary to excavate deeper and place a layer of hard core before placing the sand bedding. f} AllU-drains should preferably be stacked uniformly on level ground. 9} The weep holes provided in the U-crains double up as lifing holes for handling. A spreader beam should be used when slinging the units to avoid crack in the legs. h)_U-drains are supplied with plain butt joints in standard lengths of 1 metre.
