HAAD INTERVIEW

HAAD Interviews are mainly Personal Qsns. They want to get to know you
personally, and to see if you are capable of being part of their team.
✔ First question is always talk about yourself. So prepare one
ahead
✔ Then you will be asked about other general personal qsns (
mentioned below)
✔ Then some specialties will ask you one medical qsn + one
ethical qsns. (Mentioned below)
Relax. & Be Confident.
Usually it takes from 5 to 15 min.

GENERAL PERSONAL QUESTIONS


❖ Talk about YOURSELF
❖ Why did you choose this spciality?
❖ Why did you choose this program? (Get a hint about the
program b4 the interview. Check their website)
❖ Why should we choose you? What makes you special?
❖ Whats the most difficult thing you found in the program?
❖ What are ur strength points? Weakness points?
❖ If you got accepted in both DHA + HAAD , which one will you
choose?
❖ If you got accepted in 2 hospitals for ex Twam & SKMC (same
speciality) which hospital will you choose?
❖ If you got accepted in 2 different speciality like peds & gyne ,
which one will you choose?
❖ If you havent been accepted anywhere, what will you do?
(Very imp to mention clinical attachment.. you might say that
you wont give up and might do GP and apply next year)
❖ Have you done any research? Tell is about it. ( if you have
done audit only, no problem, tell them about it ☺)
❖ Interesting case you have seen. ( choose a case you know
verrryyy well about it and how its managed.
❖ They might ask you about anything mentioned in ur CV

PEDIATRICS

❖ You are a junior resident, u did urinary cathter to 10 days old


female, after removing the cathter, u saw blood on the tip of
the cathter, counsel the mother
❖ In the next cases, it will be a role player, where you are the
doctor, take history+ mention imp points about examination,
then ur differentials and how to manage ( investigations)

3 years child with breathlessness.

4 years old child with haematuria.

10 days old neonate, with fever and poor feeding ( sepsis)

Pallor- anemia

Breathlessness

Short stature

Jaundice

Sinusitis

❖ You're first on call in peds and emergency dr asked you to admit
patient and he doesn't need admission , what you'll do?
❖ You are resident, the oncall rota has been out, you have more
oncalls than others, what will you do?
❖ You are on call and you have a Child with pneumonia in
moderate respiratory distress and your senior is not picking up
the phone how will you manage?

INTERNAL MEDICINE

❖ Elderly patient with multiple comorbidities admitted for


mangement of xxxx (I can't remember) nurse called you as the
patient is complaining from chest pain after day 4 admission. How
will you approach? Vitals, history, physical. Labs. It was a case of
pulmonary embolism. And you are supposed to end it with "I'll
consult my senior and call the ICU
❖ Mx of sickle cell crisis in ER
❖ Haemoptysis, hx, exam, Mx

EMERGENCY

❖ Revise the famous ER topics ... like


❖ anaemic crisis
❖ Myocardial Infarction
❖ Pulmonary embolism
❖ Shock
❖ DKA
❖ hypertensive crisis / urgency
❖ stroke
❖ Those who has done ACLS , revise it.. they might ask about it

❖ They care sooo much about what u did for radio, like electives,
conferences, etc

FAMILY MEDICINE
❖ Hx , examination & Differentials about,
❖ Rt lower quadrant pain
