★★1. Simile:--
Simile is a figure of speech which makes an explicit comparison between two
different/far-faced objects or actions with the help of as or like.
অর্থাৎ দুটি ভিন্নরকম/ভিজাতীয় ভজভিস িা কাজজর মজযে সুস্পষ্ট তু লিাজক simile িজল।
Example:--
The girl is like a rose.
Life is like a dome of many coloured glass.
★★2. Metaphor:--
Metaphor is an implied analogy in which is one thing is imaginatively compared
to another dissimilar thing.
অর্থাৎ দুটি ভিন্নরকম ভজভিস িা কাজজর মজযে সুস্পষ্ট তু লিাজক metaphor িজল।তজি এখাজি as িা
like র্াজক িা।
Example:
Life is a walking shadow.
The mind is an ocean.
The city is a jungle.
★★3.Metonymy:--
The metonymy is a figure of speech in which something is referred to by a word
which describes a quality for feature of the thing. It means a thing that is related
with another thing.
অর্থাৎ,এখাজি একটা ভজভিস অিে একটা ভজভিজসর সাজর্ সম্পভকথ ত র্াজক।
Example:
The pen(writer) is mightier than the sword(soldier).
Gray here(old people) should be respected.
★★4.Synecdoche:--
It is a figure of speech in which one thing is referred to by another thing which is
inseparably associated with it. Usually , in synecdoche a part of something
stands for the whole thing or a whole thing stands for a part of it.
অর্থাৎ,ককাি একটা ভজভিজসর সম্পূর্থ অংশ িুঝাজত যখি ঐ ভজভিসটার একটা অংশ উজেখ করা হয়
িা একটা অংশ িুঝাজত সম্পূর্থ ভজভিসটাজক উজেখ করা হয় তাজক synecdoche িজল।
Example:--
I engaged ten hands(ten servant) forb he work.

Man cannot leave by bread(food) alone.

★★5.Personification :--
It is a figure of speech in which the writer puts imaginary life into a life being or
thing.
অর্থাৎ,কয figure of speech এ ককাি জন্তু, গাছপালা, জড় পদার্থ িা অিে ককাি ভকছু র উপর
মািিীক বিভশষ্টে আজরাপ করা হয় তাজক personification িজল।
Example:--
"Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."
এখাজি daffodils কক মািুজের সাজর্ তু লিা করা হজয়জছ। মািুে কযমি িাজে কভি Daffodil এর
িােজকও মািুজের িাজের সাজর্ তু লিা কজরজছি।
So It's a personification.

**6.Hyperbole:--
Hyperbole is a literary device that exaggerate or gives overstatement something
or someone.
অর্থাৎ hyperbole হজে এমি একটা figure of speech যার মজযে একটা অভতরভিত িাি
র্াজক।এই অভতরভিত িািজক আক্ষভরক অজর্থ গ্রহর্ করা যাজি িা।এ অভতরিজির উজেশে humour
িা emphasis বতভর করা।
Example:-
Ten thousand saw I at a glance.
---"Daffodils" by William Wordsworth
All the perfume of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand.
---"Macbeth" by Lady Macbeth
7.Pathetic Fallacy:---
It is a figure of speech in which human emotions are attributed to nature.
অর্থাৎ,এখাজি কদখাজিা হয় কয প্রকৃ ভত মািুজের সুখ দুুঃজখর অংশীদার।
Example:-
The rude sea grew civil at her song.
এখাজি িলা হজয়জছ কয রূঢ় সমুদ্র তার গাি শুজি িদ্র হজয় কগল।
The river wept for the sorrow of the lady.
8.Apostrophe :---
It is a figure of speech in which the writer address to someone absent or
something abstract as if the person or the thing is present there.
এই figure of speech এ ককাি অিুপভিত িস্তু,মৃত িা অিুপভিত িেভিজক এমিিাজি উজেশে কজর
ভকছু িলা হয় কযি িস্তুটি িা িেভিটি কসখাজি উপভিত ভছল।

প্রর্ম িাজকে মৃত কভি ভমল্টিজক উজেশে করা হজয়জছ এিং ভিতীয় িাজকে west wind কক উজেশে
কজর ভকছু িলা হজয়জছ। সুতরাং এগুজলা Apostrophe এর উদাহরর্।
9.Antithesis:--
It is a figure of speech in which opposing or contrasting ideas are balanced
against each other in grammatically parallel syntax.
অর্থাৎ এই figure of speech এ পরস্পর ভিজরাযী ভিপরীতার্থক যারিাজক grammatical
structure িেিহার কজর পাশাপাভশ প্রভতিাপি করা হয়।এই figure of speech এর মূল উজেশে
হজে দুই িা তজতাভযক িস্তুর মজযে contrast বতভর কজর িারসামে রক্ষা করা।
Example:-
Art is long, life is short.
God made the country, man made the town.
প্রর্ম িাজকে art এর িায়ীজতের সাজর্ মািিজীিজির ক্ষর্িায়ীত্বজক তু লিা করা হজয়জছ এিং ভিতীয়
িাজকে ঈশ্বর ও মািুজের সৃভষ্টর মজযে তু লিা করা হজয়জছ।
10.Epigram:---
The epigram is a brief, sharp and witty statement, which express a striking
thought.
অর্থাৎ epigram হজে একটা সংভক্ষপ্ত, তীক্ষ্ণ, িুভিদীপ্ত িোখো যার মাযেজম একটা আকেথিীয় যারিা
প্রকাশ পায়।
Coleridge said,
What is an epigram? A dwarfish whole:
Its body brevity, and wit its soul.

A paradox is a statement which is apparently self-contradictory but essentially
true.

অর্থাৎ,এটিও epigram এর মজতা। Paradox এর মজযে একটা স্বভিজরাযী িিিে র্াজক ভকন্তু কস
িিিে প্রকৃ তপজক্ষ সতে।জযমি,George Barnard Shaw তার একটা িাটজক িজলজছি "None
soldiers out of ten are cowards". এখাজি,সিাই জাজি বসভিকরা সিসময় সাহসী হয় কাপুরুে
িয়।ভকন্তু জীিি িাোজত বসিেরাও মাজঝ মাজঝ কাপুরুজের মজতা কাজ কজর।
Another Examples:---
★There is no one so poor as a wealthy miser.
★Sweet are the uses of adversity.
★★★12.Oxymoron :---
It is a figure of speech in which two contradictory words or phrases are
combined in a single expression, producing the effect of a condensed paradox.
Simply, it means two contradictory words those are put together.
এই figure of speech এ দুটি পরস্পর ভিজরাযী word িা phrase কক একই expression এর
মজযে যুি করা হয়।এটাও এক যরজির paradox.
Example:---
★He is a wise fool.
★It is an example of cruel kindness.
এখাজি প্রর্ম িাজকে " wise" এিং "fool" ও ভিতীয় িাজকে "cruel" এিং "kindness" সম্পূর্থ
পরস্পর ভিজরাযী শব্দ ভকন্তু একসজে িেিহৃত হজয় একটি expression বতভর করজছ।
★★★13.Irony:---
It is a figure of speech in which a statement or a situation or an action which
actually means the opposite idea of its surface meaning.
অর্থাৎ, Irony হজে যা িলা হয় তার উজল্টাটা িুঝায়।
Irony কত সাযারর্ত ভিন্দাজর্থ প্রশংসাসূেক শব্দ িেিহার করা হয়। Irony সাযারর্ত িেিহৃত হয়
কাউজক পজরাক্ষিাজি ঘা কদওয়ার জিে। এখাজি, প্রশংসাসূেক শব্দটিজক ভিদ্রুজপর কজে উচ্চারি করা
হয়।

★The operation was successful (means unsuccessful) through the patient died.
★★★14.Litotes :---
It is a figure of speech in which an affirmative statement is made by the
negation(অস্বীকার) of its opposite.
অর্থাৎ, এ figure of speech এ ইভতিােক শজব্দর ভিপরীত শজব্দর negative form িেিহার করা
হয়।এখাজি ইভতিােক শজব্দর অজর্থর উপর কজার কদওয়া হয়।

★★★15.Climax :---
It is a figure of speech in which words, phrases or ideas are arranged in an
ascending order. It is the peak of importance in a play or in a story.
অর্থাৎ,এখাজি কম গুরুজত্বর যারিাজক কিভশ গুরুজত্বর যারিায় কপৌছাজিা হয়।প্রর্জম উজেখ করা হয়
সিজেজয় কম গুরুত্বপূিথ ভিেয়জক তারপর আজে আজে কিভশ গুরুত্বপূর্থ ভজভিস উজেখ করা হয়।
Example:---
★I came, I saw, I conquered.
এখাজি আজে আজে গুরুজত্বর পযথায় িাড়াজিা হজয়জছ।
Another examples of climax are:---
★"Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, some few to be chewed
and digested".
" Of Studies" by Francis Bacon.
★He smiles, he laughs and he roars.
★★The climax is happened at the end of a play, story, drama etc.
★★★16.Anti-climax or Bathos:----
Anti-climax or Bathos is a statement in which there is a sudden fall from the
serious to the trivial or from the sublime to the ridiculous.
অর্থাৎ Anti-climax িা Bathos হজে Climax এর ভিপরীত। Climax কযখাজি কম গুরুত্বপূর্থ
ভিেয় কর্জক কিভশ গুরুত্বপূর্থ ভজভিজসর ভদজক ঊিথ ক্রম অিুসরর্ করা হয় কসখাজি anti-climax এ
কিভশ গুরুত্বপূর্থ ভিেয় কর্জক কম গুরুত্বপূর্থ ভিেজয়র ভদজক ক্রমান্বজয় ভিজে িামা হয়।
It shows a fall from the lofty to the mean, from the elevated to the commonplace.
Example:---Poets and pigs are not appreciated until they are dead.
এখাজি Poet ও Pigs এ ভিশাল ভকছু কর্জক এজকিাজর ক্ষু দ্র ভকছু জত পতি।এটাই anti-climax.
★Another example of anti-climax is:---
So over violent or over civil

★★★17.Sarcasm:----
It is a figures of speech which makes a harsh, cutting and scornful remark about
someone.
অর্থাৎ,কাউজক িা কাজরা সম্পজকথ যখি রূঢ় এিং ঘৃর্ািেিক ককাজিা ভকছু িলা হয় তখি কসটাজক
sarcasm িজল।
Example:---

You are more beastly than beast.
এখাজি কাজরা সম্পজকথ িেেসূেক প্রশংসা করা হজয়জছ। তাই এগুজলা sarcasm এর উদাহরি।
★★★18.Alliteration :----
Alliteration is a figure of speech in which there is a repetition of consonant
sounds at the beginning of words or phrases on a sequence.
এখাজি পাশাপাভশ কজয়কটা শজব্দর শুরুজত ভকংিা মাঝখাজি ককাজিা একটা consonant sound এর
পুিরািৃভি ঘজট এজকই alliteration িজল।
Example:---
Full fathom five thy father lies.
The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew,
The furrow followed free.
----"Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
এখাজি "f" and "b" িারিার পুিরািৃভি ঘটজছ এিং উিয়ই consonant. তাই এগুজলা
alliteration এর উদাহরি।
★★★19.Pun:---
It is a figure of speech which involves two or more meaning.
অর্থাৎ,এখাজি একটা শজব্দর একাভযক অযথ র্াজক।
Example:---
An honest man lies abroad for the good of his country.
এখাজি "lies" মাজি "ভমর্ো" িা "জশায়া" উিয়ই হজত পাজর।
If a women loses her husband, she pines for a second.
এখাজি "second" মাজি সময় িা ঐ মভহলার ভিতীয় স্বামী উিয়ই হজত পাজর। সুতরাং এগুজলা
pun এর example.
★★★20.Allusion:---
It is a passing reference to a historical or fictional characters, places, events or
literary works.
অর্থাৎ, কলখজকরা তাজদর রেিায় ককাজিা ঐভতহাভসক ভকংিা সাভহজতে িেিহৃত কাল্পভিক েভরত্র, িাি িা
ঘটিা উজেখ কজরি এটাজকই allusion িজল।
Example:----
"Or snorted we in the seven sleepers den."
------"The Good Morrow" by John Donsne
এখাজি "seven sleepers den" উদাহরর্টি Bible কর্জক আিা হজয়জছ। তাই এটি allusion এর
উদাহরি।

21.Allegory
It is a literary form in which one story is told in the guise of another story. An
allegory is a story of double meanings. Simply, it has a hidden meaning.
অর্থাৎ,এখাজি একটি েভরত্র, ঘটিা, পভরজিশ িারা অিে েভরত্র, ঘটিা, পভরজিশ সৃভষ্ট কজর। এখাজি একটা
ভজভিজসর দুইরকম অর্থ র্াজক।এটার মজযে একটা লুকাভয়ত অর্থ র্াজক।
★Example:---
*Spenser's "The Faerie Queen" an allegorical poem in which the knights
represent virtues of chastity and holiness.
*" Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is also an allegorical poem. Because here the
poet wanted to teach us to show divine love all creatures of God.
22. Anaphora
Anaphora means repetition of a word or phrase at the beginning of two or more
successive versus lines, clauses or sentences.
Anaphora িলজত িুঝায় কযখাজি ককাি শব্দ িা phrase একাভযকিার িেিহৃত হয়।
Alliteration এিং Assonance কযখাজি শুযুমাত্র letter িা ির্থ ভিজয় আজলােিা কজর কসখাজি
anaphora একটা word িা শব্দ ভিজয় আজলােিা কজর।
★Example:---
*"So long as man can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this and, and this gives life to thee".
----William Shakespeare " Sonnet 18".
এখাজি "so long" এর পুিরািৃভি ঘজটজছ তাই এটি anaphora এর উদাহরি।
23.Aphorism/aphoristic style
Aphorism means a terse, memorable expression of a universal truth.
Aphorism মাজি সংভক্ষপ্ত ভকন্তু তীক্ষ্ণ এিং ভেরন্তি সতে অভিমত ককই িুঝায়।
★Example:----
Francis Bacon তার প্রিন্ধগুজলাজত প্রেু র পভরমাজি aphorism এর িেিহার কজরজছি।জযমিুঃ--
*"Wives are young men's mistresses; companions for middle age; and old men's
nurses".

24.Assonance

Assonance means repetition of a vowel sound in a successive verse lines that

makes a rhyme.
অর্থাৎ, Assonance মাজি কযখাজি vowel sound এর পুিরািৃভি ঘজট।
★Example :----
*"Studies serve for delight, for ornament and for ability".

এখাজি "i" এিং "a" এর িারিার পুিরািৃভি ঘটজছ। তাই এগুজলা assonance এর উদাহরি।
25.Blank Verse
Blank verse means iambic pentameter lines without rhyme at the end. In blank
verse, the last word of a line doesn’t rhyme with the last word of any of the
successive lines.
Blank verse এর িাংলা অর্থ অভমত্রাক্ষর ছন্দ। অর্থাৎ,ভমলহীি iambic pentameter
লাইিগুজলাজকই blank verse িজল।
★Example:----
*"It little profits that an ideal king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole Unequal laws unto a savage race,
That hoard, and sleep, and feed, and know not me.

এখাজি ককাজিা লাইজির সাজর্ অিে ককাজিা লাইজির ছজন্দর ভমল কিই।একটি আজরকটি কর্জক সম্পূর্থ
আলাদা।তাই এগুজলা blank verse িা অভমত্রাক্ষর ছন্দ।
26.Caesura
Caesura is a pause or break in the rhythmic progression in a verse line. It us
indicated by the mark "||".
Caesura হজে ককাি গাাঁর্ার লাইজির মজযে িেিজেদ করা।এজক "||' সমান্তরাল ভেহ্ন ভদজয় প্রকাশ
করা হয়।
★Example:--
*"So long as men,||or eyes can see
So long lives this,||and this gives life to thee".

এখাজি উিয় লাইজিই একাভযক phrase িা clause আজছ।আর উিয় লাইিই দুটি অংজশ ভিিি।

27.Catharsis

Catharsis is the purgation or purification of pity and fear in a tragedy. A

dramatic presentation of sufferings or death arouses pity and fear in the
spectators, after watching such scenes, they feel relieved of those harmful
emotions.
অর্থাৎ,অভিিেভির মাযেজম যখি িারাক্রান্ত মি হালকা হয়,িেভি তার স্বািাভিক িারসামে ভিজর
পায় এিং সিথজশজে হৃদয় পভরশুি হয় তাজক catharsis িজল।
★Example:---
*In Oedipus Rex, a Greek tragedy, Oedipus unknowingly marries his mother. At
the end of the play, when the tragic mistake has been revealed, Jacosta
commits suicide and Oedipus gouges his eyes out. Both characters experience
release. Jocasta, by seeking release in death; Oedipus by doing penance by
gouging out his own eyes.
28.Conceit
Conceit is a comparison between two far-fetched objects or things of different
kinds.
conceit হজে দুটি সম্পূর্থ ভিন্ন ভজভিজসর মজযে তু লিা করা।
John Donne used a several conceit in his writings.
★Example:---
*"Where can we find two better hemispheres,
Without sharp North, without declining West?"

*But suck'd on country pleasures, childishly?
Or snorted we in the seven sleepers den?"
29.Consonance
Consonance is the reputation of consonants without similar vowels for two or
more times at the end of an accented syllable.
অর্থাৎ consonance হজে কযখাজি দুই িা তজতাভযক consonant এর পুিরািৃভি ঘজট।
★Example:---
*"Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May".
-----William Shakespeare "Sonnet XVIII".
এখাজি "ds" (winds, buds) consonant sound এিং এটার দুইিার পুিরািৃভি ঘটজছ। তাই এটি
consonance এর উদাহরি।
30.Couplet
Couplet means two verse lines that is rhyming together at the end.
Couplet িা ভিপদী হজে দুটি লাইজির মজযে ছজন্দর ভমল।
★Example:---

Thou art not so unkind".
-----Shakespeare "As You Like It".
এখাজি প্রর্ম ও ভিতীয় লাইজির কশে শব্দ হজে "wind" এিং "unkind"। এর মজযে ছজন্দর ভমল
আজছ তাই এটি couplet এর উদাহরি।
*" The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep".

31.Dramatic Irony
Dramatic irony is a dialogue or situation which conveys a meaning to the
character or characters on stage but its opposite meaning to the audiences.
অর্থাৎ dramatic irony হজে কযখাজি দশথকরা প্রকৃ ত সতে সম্পজকথ অিগত র্াজক ভকন্তু প্রযাি
েভরত্র কস সম্পজকথ সম্পূর্থ অজ্ঞ র্াজকি।
Sophocles তার "Oedipus the King" িাটজক প্রেু র dramatic irony এর িেিহার কজরজছি।
★Example:---
*"I Oedipus,
Whose name is known afar".
------Sophocles "Oedipus the King"
এখাজি Oedipus তার গজিথর কর্া কজার ভদজয় িজলজছি ভকন্তু এখাজি কসই হজে " unclean
thing", "curse polluter".এটাই dramatic irony.
*" Shameless, brainless, shot less, slot".
-----Sophocles "Oedipus the King".
Here is the shameless, brainless man who killed his father and marry his mother.
32.Dramatic Monologue
Dramatic monologue is a lyric poem in which a single speaker expresses his/her
thoughts and feelings to the silent listener.
অর্থাৎ dramatic monologue হজে কযখাজি
শুযুমাত্র একজি িিা র্াকজি কয ভকিা তার ভেন্তািািিাগুভল িেি করজি িীরি করাতাজদর কাজছ।
অর্থাৎ এখাজি শুযুমাএ িিা একাই কর্া িলজি এিং অিেরা শুিজি।

*"The Patriot",. "Ulysses " হজে dramatic monologue এর উৎকৃ ষ্ট উদাহরর্। এখাজি শুযু
একজি িিাই তার মজির িাি প্রকাশ কজর।তাই এগুজলা dramatic monologue এর উদাহরি।
33.Hamartia

Hamartia is an error or a flaw in the character of the protagonist of a tragedy.It

causes the fall of the protagonist from the zenith of his success to the nadir of
his misery.
Hamartia হজে গজিথর কারজি যখি ককাি ট্রাজজভির প্রযাি েভরজত্রর করুি এিং দুিথাগে অিিা
কিজম আজস। অর্থাৎ অভতভরি গজিথর কারজি যখি ককাি িেভি তার উন্নভতর সজিথাচ্চ পযথায় কর্জক
সিথভিম্ন পযথাজয় কিজম আজস তার এই করুি পভরভিভতজক Hamartia িজল।
★Example:---
*In "Dr. Faustus" he was thirst for god-like power. That destroyed him. So its his
hamartia
*In "King Oedipus" he was very proud that fall down him from the zenith to the
nadir. He was the king of Thebes but at last he was banished like a beggar.
34.Imagery
Imagery is the collection of some images.
অর্থাৎ ককাি পুজরাজিা স্মৃভত মজি রাখাজকই imagery িজল।
★Example:---
To Autumn" কভিতায় কভি অজিক imagery এর িেিহার কজরজছি।
*"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;"
এখাজি লাইি দুটি পড়ার সময় আমাজদর মজি একটা কাল্পভিক ভেত্র অভিত হয় কযখাজি পাকা পাকা
িল ঝু জল আজছ। এটাই imagery.
35.Negative Capability
Negative capability means where the writer to keep himself aloof from his
writings. It is synonyms of objectivity.
John Keats used negative capability in his writings.
অর্থাৎ negative capability হজে কযখাজি কলখক তাজক তার পছন্দ, অপছন্দ,অাাজিগ,োওয়া-
পাওয়া কর্জক সম্পূর্থ দূজর রাজখি।

Objectivity means where the writer to keep himself aloof from his writings. It is
synonym of negative capability .
John Keats used vividly objectivity in his writings.
অর্থাৎ objectivity হজে কযখাজি কলখক তাজক তার পছন্দ, অপছন্দ,অাাজিগ,োওয়া-পাওয়া কর্জক
সম্পূর্থ দূজর রাজখি।

something and ends with a consolation.
অর্থাৎ ode হজে এক যরজির গীভতকভিতা যা ককাি ভকছু িা কাউজক সজবাযি/উজেশে কজর কলখা
হয় এিং সান্ত্বিার মাযেজম কশে হয়।

★★★38.Onomatopoeia
Onomatopoeia is a figure of speech in which the sound of the words and phrases
suggests the sense. Here sense refers to our five senses.
অর্থাৎ onomatopoeia হজে এক যরজির figure of speech কযখাজি কভির িেিহৃত শব্দগুভল
পাঠজকর মজি একটা অিুিূভতর সৃভষ্ট কজর।

Poetic justice is the natural judgement which gives the wicked his due
punishment and the virtuous his due reward.
অর্থাৎ poetic justice হজে যখি ককাজিা সাভহতেকজমথর পভরর্ভতজত েভরত্রািভল যভদ তাজদর
কমথকাজের কদাে ও গুর্ অিুযায়ী শাভে িা পুরস্কার লাি কজর তখি সাভহজতের িাোয় তাজক
poetic justice িজল।

"King Oedipus" এ Oedipus তার অভতভরি গিথ,একজঘজয়ভমর জিে শাভে কপজয়জছি এটাই
poetic justice.
★★★40.Soliloquy
Soliloquy is a dramatic technique of speaking alone on stage. It is a dramatic
technique of exposing to the audience the intentions, thoughts and feelings of a
character who speaks to himself while no one remains on stage.
অর্থাৎ,soliloquy হজে ভিজজর সজে কর্া িলা। এখাজি মজে উপভিত একজি তার মজির উজেশে,
মািভসক অিিা প্রকাশ কজর ভকন্তু মজে ককউ উপভিত র্াজক িা।

A sonnet is a kind of lyric poem consisting of fourteen iambic pentameter lines
intricate by a rhyme scheme.
Sonnet িা েতুথ দশপদী কভিতা হজে কভিতা কলখার একটি যরি।জযখাজি ১৪ টি লাইি র্াজক
কযগুভল আয়াভবক কপন্টাভমটার এিং একটি ভিভদথ ষ্ট ছন্দরীভত অিুসরর্ কজর।
Italian poet Petrarch first used sonnet. Sir Thomas Wyatt first introduced sonnet
into English Literature. Mainly there are 3 kinds of sonnet.
1.Shakespearian or English sonnet
2.Italian of Petrarchan sonnet
3.Spenserian sonnet
Shakespearian sonnet is a kind of sonnet that is consisting of 3 stanzas and a
couplet. Its rhyme scheme is abab cdcd efef gg.

Subjectivity is a mode of expression in which about the writer's personal life
finds place.
অর্থাৎ subjectivity হজে কযখাজি কলখক তার ভিজজর মতামত,অভিমত,পছন্দ, অপছন্দ তার
কলখিীজত িেি করজত পাজরি।

★★★43.Symbolism
Symbolism refers to a thing that is stands for something else.It is basically an
image which,by virtue of recurrent uses.
অর্থাৎ, symbolism িলজত িুঝায় কযখাজি একটা ভজভিস িারা অিে একটা ভজভিস িুঝায়।

★★★44.Wit
Wit is a brief and brilliant expression intended to produce surprise and pleasure.
অর্থাৎ , সাভহজতে wit হজে কলখজকর িাকোতু যথ, িিজিের ঔজ্জ্বলে প্রিৃ ভত যখি পাঠজকর ভেিজক
আিভন্দত িা ভিভস্মত কজর তখি তাজক wit িজল।

★★★45.Zeugma
Zeugma means a single word that governs or modifies two other words when it
is appropriate to one of them.
Zeugma হজে একটা verb িা adjective ভদজয় এমি দুটি noun কক cover করা হয় কসখাজি
ঐ verb ভকংিা adjective টা আসজল noun এর জিে প্রজযাজে।
★Example:----
*The lighting killed several people and stacks.
এখাজি িজ্রপাজত মািুজের মৃতুে হয় এটা স্বািাভিক। সুতরাং এর জিে "kill" verb টি প্রজযাজে ভকন্তু
stacks িা খজড়র গাদা প্রজযাজে িয় কারি িজ্রপাজত খজড়র গাদার মৃতুে হয় িা ভকন্তু damage
হয়।সুতরাং এখাজি damage িসাজিা দরকার ভকন্তু "killed" উিয় noun ককই indicate
কজর।এটাই zeugma.
