According to my understanding following are the most pressing challenge for HR

at Indian SME -
• General Misconduct - The line between sarcasm and contempt is thin.
And for some employees, it's just outright rudeness or a volatile
attitude that may spread like wildfire in a team setting. Nearly half of
the businesses polled had had to cope with employee misconduct or a
personality clash. This must be handled right away before the problem
spreads like wildfire throughout the organisation.
• Performance Issue - Your staff are only there for one reason: to
complete their tasks. A disciplinary meeting should be set if you detect
operations and productivity stalling due to a certain employee. Trial
periods and performance assessments may be exactly what you need to
boost their work and prevent firing.
• Timekeeping and Absenteeism - Whether it's buddy-punching or
constantly calling in ill, the hours wasted due to employees' time away
from work have a detrimental influence on your bottom line. Lateness,
early exits, and repeated absenteeism are among the most typical HR
difficulties, with one out of every six employers claiming to have dealt
with these matters firsthand with their employees.
• Misuse of Technology - The internet has created a new (and
increasingly common) challenge for HR and management to deal with.
Misconduct regarding email protocols, computer usage outside of
work-related activities, and even social media posts that endanger the
company's or an employee's reputation has become a common
disciplinary issue that can lead to immediate termination.
• Harassment and Discrimination - Given the events of the past year, it's
no wonder that this is at the top of the list of common workplace
disciplinary issues. Sexual harassment and discrimination accusations
are touchy subjects in HR, and they must be dealt with quickly and
correctly to avoid a costly litigation. Discrimination at any level should
not be permitted, and procedures, including how to report an
occurrence, should be clearly stated with repercussions in order to
avoid misunderstanding.
