Shatin Plaza Branch Temporarily Closed

Hong Kong, 10th February, 2022 – The Bank of East Asia, Limited (“BEA” or the
“Bank”) announces that a staff member at its Shatin Plaza Branch (the “Branch”) has
been preliminarily tested to have infected COVID-19. The staff member’s previous
working day was 9th February, 2022, and wore a mask at all times when performing
duties.

The Branch and the SupremeGold Centre are temporarily closed starting 11th February
(Friday) until further notice. The Bank will arrange thorough disinfection for the
abovementioned facilities. All staff members at the Branch are to be tested for COVID-
19 according to the latest government guidance. They can only resume duty after
receiving negative test results.

During the pandemic, the Bank has implemented split-team operations, shifts and
work-from-home provisions. In addition, the Bank has temporarily closed 15 branches,
adjusted branch opening hours and implemented a number of precautionary measures
to protect staff members and customers.

BEA cares about the health and well-being of staff members, and encourages all of
them to stay home if they feel unwell.
