Tuen Mun Town Plaza Branch Temporarily Closed

Hong Kong, 23rd January, 2022 – The Bank of East Asia, Limited (“BEA” or the
“Bank”) announces that a staff member at its Tuen Mun Town Plaza Branch (the
“Branch”) has been preliminarily tested to have infected COVID-19. The staff member,
who only worked at the Branch on 21st January during the past 14 days, wore a mask
at all times when performing duties.

The Branch (including safe deposit box service) and the SupremeGold Centre are
temporarily closed starting Monday, 24th January, until further notice. The Bank will
arrange thorough disinfection for the abovementioned facilities. All staff members at the
Branch are to be tested for COVID-19 according to the latest government guidance.
They can only resume duty after receiving negative test results.

During the pandemic, the Bank has implemented split-team operations, shifts and
work-from-home provisions. In addition, the Bank has adjusted branch opening hours
and implemented a number of precautionary measures to protect staff members and
customers.

BEA cares about the health and well-being of staff members, and encourages all of
them to stay home if they feel unwell.
