THE SPECIFICATION
The best place to start is at the beginning.

But, if you don't know what you're actually

supposed to learn, why on earth are you

wasting your time ‘revising’?

Truth bomb - if you don’t know EXACTLY

what you are supposed to know, you
may as well not revise. You’re going to be
wasting time faffing around with stuff that

may be totally irrelevant.

Here’s a massive bonus that’s going to help

established that we need to be laser-

focused when it comes to what we learn;

this is so important to scoop up all of those

marks.

You’re probably now

asking yourself,
'Okay, but where do I find
what I need to know?' This is all detailed in
your specification

Realising what you actually need to know -and sorting the important stuff from the extra

fluff you get taught - is what's going to turn your Cs into As!
Know that specification inside out; each module, each topic and everything that goes

inside!

The specification is your blueprint and will tell you EXACTLY what you need to do to
get those marks.

EXAM GAME INTRODUCTION

Whether we like it or not, I’m here to tell you that exams are a game.
A game which will have you gaining mega marks if you learn the right

techniques, but dropping huge amounts if you don't know the unwritten rules.

I like to view things as 'glass half full' and now that I am aware of these
tricks, it makes having major exam success SO MUCH EASIER.

Chances are that when you lose marks, it’s not because of lack of
knowledge (you probably actually have too much!). It’s because you haven’t

learnt the unwritten rules. These are what the A* students have taken the
time to figure out and are now scoring major success.
A common misconception is that exams are just about what you know. But

there is so much more to this; it's how you apply it, your timings, your

understanding of the mark system, your understanding of the examiners and a

whole lot more.

But now you know thisyou're already so much further ahead, just because
of this new found awareness.

Now, let's break down and start to learn some of these unwritten rules.

DON'T LEARN TOO MUCH
We're here for marks and grades and this means
that we really need to be laser focused on
what will give us the marks - this will all be
outlined in your specification.

STOP LEARNING THE SUBJECT
General knowledge is great and it's also
important to understand your subject. but, as
we've established, we have to be ruthless &
learn what will get us marks.

LEARN THE EXAM
If you have only been learning content when
revising, this is a major downfall. Successful
students also knows their exam, by this we mean
question type, timing, marks etc

EFFECTIVE MEMORIZATION TECHNIQUES
Unfortunately, exams are often a memory game
as well, which means we need to double
down on having great techniques. We love
flashcards & Cornell notes!

AN EFFECTIVE EXAM DAY
Exams rely largely on good exam days. If you
want to achieve your full potential, it's vital
to have a few calming techniques to reduce
the exam stress

If you’ve seen our content

before, you’ll have probably

seen that we are big believers

in 'working smart not hard',

cutting the wheat from the

chaff and just doing the work

that we know will get us results.

After all, who wants to slog

away working for hours when

there is plenty more we could

be doing i.e. watching Netflix.

The subjects we’ve already

covered are a major part of

'working smart not hard'. But,

there are a few more tips I want

to share with you today before I

send you off on your own

journey, as I know these will set

you up in good stead and you’ll

start to see the results even

more quickly.

DAYS
Great grades come with good days. Sustainable
success is built slowly over time, so we need to make every

day a good day. Notice how I’ve said 'good'. Not

everyday needs to be perfect (that’s a surefire way to set

yourself up for burning yourself out).

So, how can you ensure good days?

Have more efficient and effective days (meaning you get what GOOD

you need to get done, but don’t spend the whole day working).

Here's just one of the methods you can use for more MUST DO

A big part of being a student is taking notes, but so many

of us fail to realise the importance of them being good

never looks back at them again, this is all about to
change! And with this - so will you grades.

Today, I’m going to introduce you to Cornell notes. This note-

taking method changed the game and I was constantly

praised for my notes, trust me, you will soon be too!

The Cornell method is a style of note-taking that works

by dividing your page into 4 sections: Title, main notes,
key points at the side and a summary at the bottom.

Summarise the page into 1 or An extra tip is to ensure you

This helped my grades so much; having notes that I could

revise from saved me SO much time, I didn’t have to make

so many revision resources and anything I had forgotten, I
