The improved assemblies are interchangeable with existing wheel half assemblies, P/N's 300-719 and 300-720. The inspection frequency of Service Bulletin 3-1485-32-1 (BFG SB 552) does not apply to the improved wheel halves. This service letter allows the operator to replace existing wheel halves in the P/N 3-1485 main wheel assembly with the improved halves. No re-identification of the wheel assembly is required. NOMENCLATURE: The following List identifies the existing and PROCEDURE improved wheel half assemblies. P/N 300-719 Outer Wheel Half Assembly - Replaced by P/N 300-719-1, starting with serial number 0500. P/N 300-720 Inner Wheel Half Assembly - Replaced by P/N 300-720-1, starting with serial number 0500. Refer to the BFGoodrich Component Maintenance Manual 32-45-70 for assembly procedures. CAUTION WHEN EXISTING AND IMPROVED WHEEL HALF ASSEMBLIES ARE MIXED, BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE CORRECT INSPECTION PROCEDURE. The inspection criteria of Service Bulletin 3-1485-32-1 (BFG $B 552) applies only to the P/N 300-720 inner wheel half. Inspect the improved wheel halves, P/N 300-719-1 and 300-720-1, per Component Maintenance Manual 32-45-70, Page 504, Table 501.
