To whom it may concern,

My name is James McClain, I am writing this in regards to being considered as a student

teacher applicant in your district. I am from Stockton, California. I graduated from Tokay
Highschool in 2018. I am a Physical Education major at Dakota State University as well as a
starting offensive lineman and a thrower on the track and field team.

Many opportunities have prepared me for student teaching, for example my time as
youth football coach,little league baseball coach, youth wrestling coach, and a student observer
in practicum classes. From these experiences I have learned very valuable lessons on how to
be an effective teacher and role model for students. Also from taking courses at DSU I have
learned many valuable techniques like learning and teaching methods and how to be an
effective educator. I have learned what my true strengths and disadvantages are along with
being disciplined and diligent with my work from the DSU athletic program. I am excited to apply
what I have learned from my experiences into student teaching.

I am eager to begin my student teaching experience, and put to use all of the skills I
have learned from DSU. I would be honored to be considered as one of your student teachers in
