STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA

1. Sop 1. Use the following formula;

1.1 Sex – use the percentage formula
1.2 Age – use the formula for mean of grouped data
1.3 Civil Status - percentage formula
1.4 Years in service – formula for mean of grouped data

Percentage Formula
P = f/N x 100%
Where:
P is the percentage, f is the frequency and N is the number of respondents.

Mean for Grouped data

Mean = ∑fx / N
Where f is the frequency, x is the midpoint, fx is the product of frequency and midpoint
and N is the number of respondents.

2. Use the weighted average formula for SOP #2, SOP 3 and SOP 5

M =∑ fw / N

Where M is weighted mean, ∑ fw is the sum of the product of the frequency and weight
and N is the number of cases or respondents.
Each of the responses was weighted using 4 point scale. This is a system of quantitative
ranking basis for the interpretation of results using the numerical ratings and descriptions.

3. For SOP 4, to determine if there is a significant relationship between the status of

kindergarten program when respondents are group according to profile, use the T-test
formula, given below.

Where,
x1 = Mean of first set of values
x2 = Mean of second set of values
S1 = Standard deviation of first set of values
S2 = Standard deviation of second set of values
n1 = Total number of values in first set
n2 = Total number of values in second set.
The formula for standard deviation is given by:

Where,
x = Values given
x = Mean
n = Total number of values.
