Assignment on Superposition, Thevenin’s & Norton’s Theorem

1. Use the Superposition theorem to determine the current in the branch ‘AB’ of the network
shown below.

2. Find the current in the 10 Ω resistor in the circuit below using Superposition theorem.
[Ans:0.9375A]

3. Use Superposition theorem to find the current flowing through the 10 Ω resistor shown in the
figure.
4. Determine the current through 3 Ω resistor in the circuit shown by using Thevenin’s theorem.
[Ans:3A]

5. Replace the entire network to the left of terminals AB by Thevenin’s equivalent circuit and
hence determine I.

6. By the use of Thevenin’s theorem, find the value of current I0 in the 3 Ω resistor.

7. Calculate the current in the 5 Ω resistor across AB in the network shown below using Norton’s
theorem.
8. Calculate the current in the 20 Ω resistor in the circuit given below using Norton’s theorem.
[Ans: 0.029]

9. Use Norton’s theorem to find the current in 10 Ω resistance in the circuit given below.
[Ans: 0.324A]
