CRIME IN THE US
Only 14% of people who (1) commit a (2)crime are total strangers to the dead person.
Nearly 90% are male and nearly 50% are under 25 years old. Most killers don’t plan a

Most murders take place spontaneously during arguments or are connected to other

murder cases.

Are they popular in your country? How realistic do you think they are?
• I have watched criminal case that dealt with murders in which they had to discover
the murderer, they haven't very popular in my country, they have looked very realistic.
4. Strangers on a Train is a thriller by Patricia Highsmith. Look at the scene below
from the film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Work in pairs and discuss the
questions.
• What do you think the men are talking about?
They have talked about changing roles, they have talk about getting rid of one's father
and the other's wife.
• Do you think they like each other?
They haven't liked each other.
• Do you think the men are similar or different?
They are different.
• What do you think the film is about?
The movie is about a man explaining a great idea that occurred to him so that his
problem would end, which the man tries to convince the other.
5. Listen to the film script of the scene. What do you think Bruno means when he
says ‘criss-cross’ in the last line?
It means to "exchange" the deaths, that he killed his wife and the other to his
father. each one killed a stranger, "you commit my crime and I commit yours"

likely you think each one is. Discuss your reasons.
