Elevator Speech Transcript

Hello! My name is Andrea Green, technically Andrea Tate I got married in

April, and I am a 3rd grade teacher at St. Genevieve Elementary in Panorama City.
This is my third year teaching at my current school, my fourth year teaching
overall, and I am one of two 3rd grade teachers at my school.

I love teaching third grade because the students still have that desire to be
successful and really enjoy coming to school, yet they are becoming more
independent students and I think that is really awesome and a fun age group to
work with.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State

University, Go Aggies! I also had an emphasis in Language Arts education.

One of the ways I am a teacher leader is by working with my administrators

and our high school, as we are a K-12 school, we are working on implementing a
program for the high school students that have an interest in pursuing education
after they graduate from high school. We work with these students during their free
periods, we pair them up with a mentor teacher on the elementary side, and they
have the opportunity to come shadow in the classroom. They have specific
objectives they work on, and really get that experience in an elementary classroom
to help them make their decision in terms of whether or not they want to pursue
education.
