Good morning dear friends. 🙏

Today it is possible that any day an awful post of physical, mental or emotional abuse pops up in any social media and
affects you in an undesirable way: people abusing animals, beating kids etc. Just a half century ago, it was likely only
in a nightmare. Yet curiously they always used to take place in the past, and continue to do so in the present and
perhaps the same will go on in the future. In mainstream TV media too off and on such shocking documentaries keep
on appearing. A recent documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ by Dan Reed has revealed how Michael Jackson slept with
children each night and some of those abused children, of course now adults have spoken up about their ordeal in the
documentary. Also our memory is still fresh with what all went on in the Oregon Osho commune in the 80’s after the
‘Wild Wild Country’ documentary.
If a lot of good, constructive and beautiful things are happening around us, then horrendous things are happening too.
Somehow or the other you get to confront them. If any of that disturbs your inner being, then it is a problem.
Otherwise it is only something habitual, an unavoidable part and parcel of human existence. If such a scene or
information causes you a turmoil, then it is evident that you need to work with your meditation. Your meditation has
not gone deep enough for you to be able to just witness without being affected. So one long term measure is to be
more regular with your meditation, and a more immediate measure when you are actually being affected is your
personal mantra, if you have thought of one. The unpleasant situation is temporary and may last a few minutes or
hours. You can immediately remember your personal mantra and repeat it. The mantra has to be formed remembering
the deepest level you have reached in your meditation, any simple sentence like ‘I am a seeker’, ‘I feel blissful’ or ‘I
am going in the right direction’ anything that comes to you. That is also _simran_ and serves as a representative of
your highest strength to protect you in any dilemma, difficult moment or situation. And as you go on going deeper in
your meditation, you can go on changing your mantra too. When you are in deep meditation, you are already dwelling
in a blissful and safe zone, but when you come back to your daily routine and sometimes in worse phases, _simran_
through your personal mantra become your guardian. Gradually you will be able to integrate it in all of your activities
be it work, pleasure, difficult situations, ambush situations and be a witness who remains affectless and in eternal
bliss. Eventually this will also lead to continuous remembering of the essence what the _sants_ call 'स ाँस स ाँस ससमरो
गोव द
िं ।'

Wish you all a meditative and celebrative day ahead. 🌻

That is a good documentary, yet all the good in the world at the most becomes culture, then it goes on refining and
then you become proud of your culture. It seldom leads you to religion, refined culture then becomes business. If you
know tourism, then there is a Buddhist circuit, similarly in entertainment there is religion genre. Very nicely made
documentary, the Sakyamuni Buddha almost looks like Keenu Reeves, perhaps he is. Ideal religious entertainment for
the Hollywood clientele.
This has an exactly opposite effect as compared to an awful post. Either way you are affected. That means you still
need to work. It is of some purpose only if it leads you to meditation. Because meditation, rather culmination of
meditation, is what provides you with the capacity to see through illusion.
So watch your own biography, read your own story. What happened to Sakyamuni Buddha is happening in your life,
right now, every moment, the biggest biopic is continuously on. Every day is a different episode, moreover it is
interactive, you have a role to play and the storyline is somehow in your hands if you can see it, you can actually give
it a direction. Observe how _mara_ in its myriad forms is deluding you every moment. Ultimately all illusions needs
an entry into you to be able to affect you, and that entrance is your own mind. If you can attain a constant vigil of that
entrance, your own mind, nothing will enter, only vigil is needed. Because all illusion needs attention; that is the last
ingredient for the illusion to take effect, and that last ingredient is always in your hands. Only through meditation can
you get hold of that last ingredient, only then can you be still, otherwise something or the other, will keep on swaying
you. *So watch your own biography, read your own story*.

Wish you all a meditative and celebrative day ahead. 🌻

Good morning dear friends. 🙏

Mantra is inevitable. Just observe yourself, especially in tight situations. How often and how easily you blurt out – Oh
shit! That is an unconscious mantra and unconsciously you go on repeating at the slightest arising occasion. Moreover
that is the most decent one. If you observe in the street especially among the macho folk, in their daily parlance, they
are continuously swearing, every second word that comes out of their mouth is obscene. And all is happening
automatically, unconsciously, if a video is made and shown to them, they themselves will feel bad and ashamed. And
it is not only here, everywhere in the world, in the so called developed world, the same goes on. Maybe among the
female folk it is slightly less as they always seem more sophisticated, but sometimes in extreme situations some will
explode in such a manner that even God would say: No, I did not coin that swear, how come it is being used! And
there are some specialists who have a very decent face in the public, if you could observe them in pissed off situations
blurting out insults, abuses, swears, you would easily prefer to remain ignorant rather than being able to digest it.

The situation can be reversed, you just need to be conscious. When a situation becomes too heavy to handle, you look
for support and these poor words are used as a foot mat, to trample on them and obtain some relief. And it works, that
is why it is so popular, but it is nothing different than sipping alcohol, puffing a cigarette or beating a vulnerable
person, a servant, a spouse, a child. In a tough situation instead of invoking your strength, it is an easier option to
resort to swearing. It shows that you are weak and vulnerable at that point of time, and the automatic reflex is to create
a relatively weaker and more vulnerable surrounding so that you feel strong and sort of ok. If you are conscious and
accept your own vulnerability then in situations where you feel weak, disappointed, confused you can resort to your
personal mantra which is a symbol of your inner strength, your personal _vajra_. It will make you more and more
conscious and as you stop resorting to swears, your inner environment becomes purer. It becomes easier every time to
slip in. If at all you can give a form or a name to the meditative state that you have attained, then that is your mantra.
Assign one and use it as your _vajra_ whenever needed. Not only conflicting situations are difficult, but sometimes
even euphoric situations are difficult, you have just made a huge achievement, the pride overtakes you and success
begins to enter your head, you don’t know how to behave, overconfidence, ego surge etc. Then too remember your
mantra. But also remember that it is not a substitute for your meditation, it is only an extension of your meditation.
Without meditation mantra does not make sense. _Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum_ – one of the
favourite mantras of Tibetan masters.

Wish you all a meditative and celebrative day ahead. 🌻
