2.02 Duct System
Duct sizes shall be in accordance with the project
drawings, which form a part of this specification.
The configuration of offsets, transitions, turns, etc,
shall be as specified on the project drawings.

NOTES:
1. Cleanout (access) doors are required in horizon-
tal runs of duct in duct systems carrying particu-
late laden ai. They are to be installed adjacent
{o elbows, junctions with vertical ducts, vertical
duct runs, and at devices requiring periodic in
spection and maintenance.
2, Cleanout and access doors shall be sized to sat-
isfy their intended use, The height of the open-
ing shall not exceed 0.5 times the width of the
duct panel on which it is installed, or 24 in.,
whichever is les,
EXCEPTION: The size of the opening may exceed
the stated limits when the duct opening is satisfacto-
rily reinforced.
3. Cleanout and access doors must be located on
the top or sides of the duct, but never on the bot-
tom,
