Sharks are the most fearsome predatory fish of the seas. There are 375 species of
sharks. They live mostly in the warm seas.
Their torpedo-shaped bodies make them very fast swimmers. Sharks have a
skeleton made of rubber cartilage. Most other kinds of fish have bony skeletons.
The world’s biggest fish is the whale sharks, the whale. It can grow well to over 12 meters
long. Unlike other sharks, the whale shark and the basking shark mostly eat plankton and
are completely harmless.
Shark’s main weapons are its teeth. They are powerful enough to bite through steel
plate. The killing machine of the shark world is the great white shark. This shark is
