To Whom It May Concern,

I enjoyed having Vanessa Anderson as a student in the science courses in the STEM
magnet program and Windsor High School for two years. She always brought positive energy to
class. In her lab project group(s) she brought her own unique sense of creativity. In some ways,
she was not a typical STEM student as she also is interested in the arts, particularly crafts, such
as crocheting and cross-stitch embroidery. As a middle school student, she participated in the
school musicals.

Vanessa pursues her scientific interests outside of the classroom as well as she enjoys
gardening and she grows her own vegetables. Vanessa’s interest in the environment was inspiring
to me and helped me to feel hopeful for the next generation. She looks to recycle and reuse as
much as possible. Her career interests are marine biology, environmental studies, and
psychology.

Vanessa is willing to challenge herself and step out of the box both inside and outside of
the classroom. She joined the wrestling team during her sophomore year and has continued to be
on the team. She also joined the track and field team this year where she is a thrower (discus and
shot put).

The enthusiasm that Vanessa brought to the STEM core was contagious. She was always
willing to try something new without complaint. She is kind and has a good sense of humor. I am
excited to see what she does once she leaves Windsor High School. I know that anyone who
crosses her path will be greeted with a smile.

Sincerely,

Sarah Hart
