Essay. Give your thoughts on the items as brief and concise as possible. You will be scored
according to the following:

1. How does production management differ from operations management?

- Production and operations management's main goal is to effectively manage and utilize
the company's resources, which are necessary for the production of goods and services.
The term "production management" refers to the administration of activities related to the
manufacture of goods. Operations management, on the other hand, is one step ahead of
production management, or it could be said that production management is a subset of
operational management. Operational management is the management of business
operations by company executives, as the name implies.
- Production management differs from operational management in that it is concerned with
the production of commodities and services. Operational management, on the other hand,
entails tasks like monitoring, planning, and structuring business processes. The
Production management must make judgments about the design, quality, quantity, and
cost of the product produced by the department.

2. Being a BSBA student taking either financial management or human resource

management major, is it necessary for you to study operations management? Why
or why not?
- Operations management is important to me as a BSBA student concentrating in Human
Resources Management since it is a management role that comprises monitoring people,
equipment, technology, information, and any other resources necessary. It aids in the
efficient management, control, and supervision of commodities, services, and people.
Operations management can help us develop the skills and tools we'll need to bring new
ideas to life and serve as an important part of the company's core.

3. In what ways do you think can operations management help in a company’s

competitiveness, strategy, and productivity?
- Innovation in product and service design, efficient production, strategic location, high-
quality products, and quick response are all things that operations management can
contribute to a company's competitiveness. Time, trend flexibility, good inventory and
supply chain management, good customer service, and a healthy working environment
are all important factors. Having all of these guarantees a company's prospective
competitive advantage over its competitors, commonly known as competitive advantage.
Operations management may aid a company's strategy by minimizing the cost of products
and services, providing rapid reaction time (whether in providing service, delivering
goods, or responding to changing needs), and diversity (having a wide range of products
and the capacity to innovate). Through the monitoring and computation of inputs and
outputs, Operations Management may aid in the productivity of an organization.
