1. Lack of information on practical and theoretical matters is two possible
reasons for Heather's poor performance, in my opinion. Heather's have
adequate knowledge regarding the subject. In my view Heather's deficiency
is in declarative knowledge. It is said that one becomes more skilled in
problem solving when she relies more on procedural knowledge than
declarative knowledge. Heather's training session should be more
interactive. Rather than using theoretical model she should make models
more practically applicable.

She has lack of procedural knowledge also, which is required in training


employees in the organization. She knows a lot of information but she is
having a lot of trouble in executing it. This is not uncommon in technical
folks who are book smart but tend to have limited interaction with others.
This is the reason why she has been rated low.

2. Heather’s manager need to collect feedback form from individuals attending


her session’s, as this could help with retrieving real cause. Provide
individual coaching with Heather on how she can deliver a more concise
message, coach other individual and be an appreciable in class. Possibly
video tapping her teaching a class and having her critique her own
performance would help.
