Make Time for Shallow Work – card 2 – Video Transcript

- You've blocked off an hour and a half of your day for deep work. As
you sit down to start, you get an email from a coworker. It looks
important and it'll only take a few minutes to answer. Should you
reply? No. The fact is you can answer the email later. Part of
prioritizing deep work is also finding time for shallow work, like
replying to emails or scheduling travel. All those shallow things are
important in their own way. But to do deep work, you have to be
efficient and disciplined about how you handle your shallow work too.
You don't want it infringing on the time you set aside for deep work.
Shallow work needs its own dedicated time.
