ACTIVITY TO BE DEVELOPED

1. According to the ten-year public health plan 2012-2021, identify the 8

(eight) priority dimensions and the 2 transversal dimensions. Also, identify
the sustainable development goals (UNDP, 2015).

The Ten-Year Public Health Plan is a medium-term plan, a State policy that involves
more than one period of government and therefore allows for more far-reaching
strategic proposals.

Priority dimensions:
The eight (8) priority dimensions established by the Ten-Year Public Health Plan
represent fundamental aspects for the well-being and quality of life of people and their
communities and that due to their importance must be intervened, preserved or
improved. They have four entries: Life course, Health events, Differentials from subjects
and groups and Perspective of the Social Determinants of Health.

 Environmental Health Dimension.

 Dimension Healthy Living and Communicable Diseases
 Social Coexistence and Mental Health Dimension
 Food and Nutrition Security Dimension
 Dimension of Sexuality and Sexual and Reproductive Rights.
 Healthy Living Dimension and Non-Communicable Conditions
 Dimension Public Health in Emergencies and Disasters
 Health and Labor Scope Dimension

Cross dimensions:
The two (2) transversal dimensions represent fundamental aspects to be taken into
account in all priority dimensions.

1. Differential management dimension of vulnerable populations: It accounts

for the differential developments in specific subjects and groups (in processes
and sometimes in structure and resources), for some phases of the life cycle,
gender, ethnic groups, people with disabilities and victims, under the principles of
respect and recognition of the right to population differences and the greatest
vulnerabilities
2. Strengthening of the Health Authority for health management: It is related to
developments aimed at institutional strengthening and health services. These
dimensions each have components, objectives, goals and strategies.

2. Describe the sustainable development goals (UNDP, 2015).

The Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by
all Member States in 2015 as a universal call to end poverty, protect the planet and
ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

 Goal 1: End Poverty

 Goal 2: Zero hunger
 Goal 3: Health and wellness
 Objective 4: Quality education
 Goal 5: Gender Equality
 Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation
 Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy
 Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
 Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
 Goal 10: Reduction of inequalities
 Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities
 Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production
GEOPOLITICS AND THE ENVIRONMENT 5

 Goal 13: Climate Action

 Objective 14: Underwater Life
 Goal 15: Life of terrestrial ecosystems
 Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
 Goal 17: Partnership to achieve the goals

3. A paragraph includes the relationships and definitions for the following

terms: Geopolitics, sustainable development, environment, Determinants in
health.
Geopolitics and sustainable development not only help to preserve and conserve the
ecosystem, through politics, but in a responsible way its intervention is adequate for the
care of nature, in order to promote an economy that prolongs sustainability through
activities o strategies that promote the adequate and sustainable development of the
environment in such a way that the determinants in health are guaranteed, in order to
enjoy a sustainable ecosystem suitable for people's health and intensify its protection of
all those who make politics with in order to want to destroy or contaminate it.
