1. Self from various perspective

A. Philosophy - Life is the component of reality that thinks, acts,


responds, assesses, and grows (reproduction and metabolism). The
key distinction among life and non-life (or non-living entities) is that life
requires engage in regular physical or conscious growth.

B. Sociology - The self, according to traditional sociology, is a


reasonably steady collection of conceptions about who we are in
relation to ourselves, others, and social institutions. In the sense that it
is molded through interactions with other people, the self is socially
produced.

C. Antropology - It addresses the genetic and cultural roots of self, the


function of self in socialization and language, and the several varieties
of self we develop as we grow into adulthood. We rely on others to
inform us about ourselves and even to confirm that we exist.

D. The self in western, oriental/eastern thought Individualism is the


focus of Western philosophy, whereas Collectivism is the focus of
Eastern philosophy. Both systems place a strong emphasis on
qualities. Eastern philosophy is more spiritual, whilst Western
philosophy is more practical.

2. Unpacking the self

A. The physical self - The individual's impression of oneself in terms of


physical abilities and attractiveness is referred to as physical self-
concept. Physical ability relates to things like strength and endurance,
whereas appearance refers to things like beauty and body image.

B. Sexual self - The whole of one's self as a sexual person, including


good and negative notions and feelings, is referred to as sexual self-
concept. According to theorists, sexual self-concept may be defined in
three ways: sexual self-esteem, sexual despair, and sexual obsession
(Snell & Papini, 1989).

C. The Material/Economical self - This concept proposes that items, in


addition to contributing to how a person identifies himself or herself,
also represent people's connections with others depending on what they
own. These personal decisions shape a person's material and economic
self, which is a reflection of his or her social identity.

D. The Spiritual Self - The individual's spirituality is merged with an


awareness of personal growth, evolution, and connection with others
and the planet. Spirituality is linked to a sense of self-worth and an
understanding of one's own existence in the perspective of a bigger
picture.

E. The Political Self - Expresses how a person's mental health and well-
being are influenced by their social and economic circumstances.
Making decisions that affect all members of a group is a collective
decision-making process. The ability to lead and dominate a group. It
has the ability to sway people by making decisions for them.

F. The Digital Self - When you're online, you present yourself as your
digital self. Some people have many online identities that are separate
from their "real world" lives, while others have a single online identity
that is similar to the one they occupy in the actual world.

3. Managing and caring for the self

A. Learning to a better student - Self-learning equips you with the


capacity to independently recognize issues and seek out effective
solutions. Challenges and hurdles, in any event, do not destroy your will
to get things done; rather, they present fresh possibilities to learn
something new at your own speed and in your own time.

B. Setting goal for success - Self-management of chronic illness entails


accepting responsibility doing what it takes to properly manage your
illness. It is critical that you take charge of your health. Your doctor's
treatment advice will be useless unless you follow them.
