Point 1: Just like から, ので is attached to a Clause that is stating a reason.

ので sounds slightly more formal than から.

明日テストがあるから、こんばん たくさん勉強(べんきょう)するつもりです。
明日テストがあるので、こんばん たくさん勉強(べんきょう)するつもりです。
“Because there will be a test tomorrow, I intend to study a lot tonight.”
