ZIMBABWE

What happened in the history of that particular place? 


Between the year of 1980 and 2017, Zimbabwe’s human rights violations tend to
extent and it widespread during the regime time of Robert Mugabe and his officials
party, the ZANU-PF. Amnesty International and Human Rights defenders reported that
Zimbabwe’s government breach the freedom movement, shelter, food, and freedom of
having a protection from the law. It also reported that even the communication
department, the media, were harassed. The political opposition and civil society activists
were also targeted.

Were they peaceful or war-torn? 


Zimbabwe’s situation up until now continues to be more prone from violation of
human rights. A lot of assaults, abducted, and tortured were still resilient. During the year
2020, month of July, media journalist Chin’ono and Party-list leader Jacob Ngarivhume
were arrested by the police authority of Zimbabwe for protesting the government’s
corruptions, freedom of speech were disregarded. Thus, it creates a chaos, resulting in
arresting of 60 protesters and 16 injured protesters as well. Zimbabwe’s government and
its people are in war- torn position right now.

SOUTH SUDAN

What happened in the history of that particular place? 


South Sudan crisis start from the year, 2013. There are reports that security forces
harassed and arrested several journalists, activists of civil society, and political rival
without the any legal proof to do so, instead they uses their power. It also the same year
wherein the Sudan people’s Liberation Movement struggle to ruled that resulted the
conflict between two parties. During the year 2015 they made an agreement which to
create a cease fire agreement it thus subsides, but during the year 2016, July, another
fight was created, that continued to be their biggest boundaries.

Were they peaceful or war-torn? 


South Sudan’s leaders failed to follow its agreement of cease firing, countless of
abuses, killings, rape, and torturing are still occurring. Women from the country are the
target, from sexualizing to exploitation. Sudan is trying to create a misogynistic
leadership, they forced and recruiting men and children to fight. The situation on South
Sudan remains horrible and it gets worse.

CAMBODIA

What happened in the history of that particular place? 


Year 2017, the election of Cambodian government was made. The most
questionable election in which it got criticized by the international and domestic
organizations. It was not fair and free since the opposition were banned, and the
people of the country does not get the chance to vote where in fact its their rights. The
authority from the police department to armed forces of Cambodia held responsible
for stopping any person who’s against the ruling. Even the rival party received threats.

Were they peaceful or war-torn? 


It created commotion, lost of freedom of speech, torturing, abuses, and killings
were visible. Tuy Sros, was arrested later on it was reported that he died and was
custody by the policy. Witnesses reported that the culprit are the military police, they
beat Sros and declining to issue a medical treatment. A lot of reports that military and
police forces use their power to inhuman the criminal detainees, they beat and abuses
them. After the multiple violation from human rights Cambodia’s government were
receiving criticism from the international community. Cambodia was also compared to
Burma, in which the hot topic country right now in the international happenings with
their crisis governance.
