Malaria is a serious and dangerous disease
caused by infection with the Plasmodium
parasite.

Generally, the parasite is transmitted


through mosquito bites, especially by the
Anopheles mosquito. One of the most
common types of Plasmodium parasites that
cause this disease is P. falciparum.

MALARIA SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of malaria appear at least 10-15 days
after being bitten by a mosquito. The
emergence of symptoms through three stages
over 6-12 hours, namely chills, fever and
headache, then profuse sweating and weakness
before the body temperature returns to
normal. The stages of malaria symptoms can
occur following a certain cycle, namely once
every 3 days (tertiana) or every 4 days
(quartana).
CAUSES OF MALARIA
Humans can get malaria l after being
bitten by a mosquito that contains the

malaria parasite in the mosquito's


body. The mosquito bite causes the
parasite to enter the human body. This
parasite will settle in the liver before it
is ready to attack red blood cells.
prevention of malaria transmission

1. Apply mosquito repellent lotion.


2. Use mosquito repellent.
3. Wear a blanket that covers the whole body.
4. Use mosquito nets while sleeping.
5. Dissolving abate powder into the bath
6. Diligent in cleaning and draining the bath.
7. Avoid the occurrence of puddles.
8. Do fogging regularly.
