Be careful when opening unexpected emails. Spam or junk mail could contain
viruses that can damage your computer. Even if you recognize the name of the
sender, look at the "from" address. It could be a "phishing" message trying to
trick you into downloading harmful software or revealing personal information.
Don't download suspicious file attachments or click on links. Flashy ads and
strange messages could also contain spyware, which is used by people who
want to steal your personal information and your parent’s credit card numbers.
Talk to an adult you trust if you receive an online message that you are unsure
about. They can help you figure out if it is safe, true or appropriate.
You’re working on a group project. When practising your presentation, one person in your group says something that doesn’t make sense to you. They say
that the information is from an online article so it must be true. You ask where they found the article and:
Radiš na grupnom projektu. Kada vježbate prezentaciju, jedna osoba u tvojoj grupi kaže nešto što ti nema smisla. Kaže da su informacije iz online članka pa
to mora biti istina. Pitaš ju gdje je pronašla članak i:

• Phishing scams are attempts by scammers to trick you into giving out personal information such as your bank
account numbers, passwords and credit card numbers.Do not click on any links or open attachments from
emails claiming to be from your bank or another trusted organisation and asking you to update or verify your
details – just press delete.
• Do an internet search using the names or exact wording of the email or message to check for any references
to a scam – many scams can be identified this way.
• Look for the secure symbol. Secure websites can be identified by the use of 'https:' rather than 'http:' at the
start of the internet address, or a closed padlock or unbroken key icon at the bottom right corner of your
browser window. Legitimate websites that ask you to enter confidential information are generally encrypted
to protect your details.
• Never provide your personal, credit card or online account details if you receive a call claiming to be from your
bank or any other organisation. Instead, ask for their name and contact number and make an independent
check with the organisation in question before calling back.
Feedback: Clicking adds/popups like the one in the image could cause your computer/electronic to catch viruses/malware.
What is a browser cookie?
Što je kolačić preglednika?
• Cookies are small pieces of information websites
store on your computer. Cookies only contain bits
of text, not anything else. The text can be a user ID,
session ID, or any other text. For example, web
pages can be configurable – a web page could have
a Hide link that hides a certain element on the
page. The page can save this setting on your
Feedback computer with a cookie. When you load the page
in the future, the page can examine the cookie and
automatically hide the element.
• If you clear your cookies, you’ll be logged out of all
websites and websites won’t remember any
settings you’ve changed on them.
• Cookies are very common – you probably have
hundreds or even thousands stored in your
browser right now.

• Before you share any information online, it’s important to make sure the website is
secure. Fortunately, there are two quick checks to help you be certain.
• Look at the uniform resource locator (URL) of the website. A secure URL should begin
with “https” rather than “http.” The “s” in “https” stands for secure, which indicates that
the site is using a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate. This lets you know that all your
data is encrypted as it passes from your browser to the website’s server.
• Look for a lock icon near your browser’s location field. Because securing websites via SSL
has become more the norm than the exception, it is now more common for web
browsers to highlight insecure sites than secure ones. If a site isn’t secure, you may see a
lock icon with a strike through it, or a text message reading “Not secure.”
Your grandparent is changing their password and asks you to help them think of a good one. You suggest:

• When a post is public, anyone on and off Facebook can see it. This allows
everyone to see your pictures and videos, even strangers! Always use privacy
settings on websites and apps to limit what others can see about you. Check
these settings often to make sure your information stays protected.
• Many websites ask you to provide personal information when you register. Think
about why they want this information from you. Always check with a parent or
guardian before you create an online account anywhere. The same goes for
entering any contests or downloading apps.
Which of the following passwords is the strongest?
Koja je od slijedećih lozinki najjača?
Feedback: The key aspects of a strong password are length (the longer the better); a mix of letters (upper and lower case), numbers, and
symbols, no ties to your personal information, and no dictionary words.
You’ve been playing an online game with some classmates after school. It’s fun and you enjoy it a lot. But more than once in the past week, you noticed
one player is saying mean things to another kid in the group chat. You:
Igrao/la si online igru s nekim kolegama nakon škole. Zabavno je i doista uživaš u tome. Međutim, više puta u proteklom tjednu, primijetio/la si kako jedan
igrač govori zlobne i neprimjerene stvari drugom igraču u grupnom chatu. Ti:

You can also share different types of content, like photos and links.
But sharing something on Facebook is a bit different from other
types of online communication.
Unlike email or instant messaging, which are relatively private, the
things you share on Facebook are more public, which means they'll
usually be seen by many other people.
One of your friends wants to do a new viral challenge where you record a video of yourself doing something dangerous and post it publicly. You:
