The “let’s follow the rules” project.


Purpose: 
The purpose of this lesson is to teach students about the importance of following traffic rules.
To understand that we have rules for a reason.
Objectives: 
The learner will:
 identify what each traffic sign means.
 learn traffic rules.
 Investigate on the internet about traffic signs.
 construct a model of a city/road /highway in which they show different traffic signs
Ideas for the project:
 Invent traffic signs for your school and hang them on the walls of the school yard.
 Choose a group of students to act as wardens (they may carry a whistle) and see
that the rules are obeyed.
 Choose a group of students to give small lectures on safety rules.
 Investigate on the internet
 Invite persons of the community to talk about safety rules and laws. (Traffic
wardens, firefighters, etc.)
 Make posters about safety
 Construct models of cities roads or highways including traffic signs.
 Imagine you are the person in charge of the traffic in your city, what would you
do?
