CULTURAL DIMENSIONS OF KFC IN PAKISTAN:

Power distance:

In Pakistan the power distance is very high as compared to America from where it
came. The KFC’s high officials are mainly involved in decision making which
means in KFC Pakistan there is also a high power distance which is according to
the culture of Pakistan.

Uncertainty Avoidance:

In Pakistan there is high uncertainty avoidance and people here don’t accept
uncertain situations and they are hesitant to invest there or do that thing. So KFC
Pakistan had to embrace this culture of high uncertainty avoidance because most
their employees are Pakistanis.

Individualism:

Individualism in Pakistan is very low. Here people prefer to live collectively and
not individually so that means more people are dependent on those persons who
earn for living. Collectivism doesn’t promote a strong culture as less people are
employed and they contribute less to the country’s economy.

Masculinity:

Masculinity in Pakistan is very high as well. Pakistan’s societies are mostly male
dominated and not female dominated. So KFC Pakistan had to consider that this is
a male dominated society so that’s why there most of the management is based on
males and less females.

CULTURAL ANALYSIS:

Religion:

KFC Pakistan had to keep in mind that in Pakistan the majority people’s religion is
Islam. Only Halal eatables are allowed to be consumed in Islam. So KFC Pakistan
considered this important thing and they offered only Halal products that are duly
approved by an authorized Islamic body.
General Values:

General values of Pakistan are completely different of that in America. KFC

Pakistan had to consider the general values of Pakistan in order to be successful
over here. They usually are Islamic values which makes it an Islamic country.

Educational System:

In Pakistan there is a weak educational system as compared to the American

educational system. People here are less educated so KFC Pakistan had to cope up
with this hurdle and had to make such kind of policies that can be understood
easily.

Languages:

In Pakistan the language that is mostly spoken are Urdu and people can also
understand English over here. So KFC Pakistan hired most of the people that are
Pakistani and they can understand and communicate with locals easily and
effectively.

Traditions:

Pakistan’s Traditions are purely Islamic and people here follow the Islamic
traditions all over the country. Here all the festivals and events are Islamic. So
KFC Pakistan had to change its way of tackling with the locals on different kinds
of festivals and events. They have to come up with new plans in order to get to the
people on these kinds of festivals and events.

Social Structures:

Social structures here in Pakistan are quite strong meaning people here a connected
socially very strongly. People here keep strong ties with each others because of
collectivism cultures. KFC Pakistan had to keep in view the strong social ties
among the individuals and how they react to certain situations. They had to bring
up a change in their organization culture as well and make a strong social network
among the employees of the organization.
