 What is Flood?

Flood means rising and overflowing of water that submerges vast land beyond
it’s normal limit.

 What is River erosion?

River bank erosion means when water washes away the banks of a river or
stream which is a naturally occurring process where human impact can increase
its rate.

 What is Earthquake?
Earthquake maybe defined as sudden slip or movement of a fault that results
ground shaking and radiate seismic energy by the slip, or by volcanic or
magmatic activity and causes a great destruction.

 Why infrastructure collapses?

Infrastructure may collapse due to a design flow construction accidents,
operations errors or by a major earthquake or any other natural or man made
causes. Each and every infrastructure is made through certain process. First
there should be a proper design for certain infrastructure. The infrastructure is
given a certain stable strength where it can carry all the pressure and loads. If
that certain point is disturbed then it leads to infrastructure collapse.

 What is infrastructure resilience?

Infrastructure resilience is the ability to withstand, adapt to changing
conditions, and recover positively from shocks and stresses. For example,
during cyclone or flood the infrastructure must have certain criteria for which it
can overcome the hazard or at the time of earthquake the infrastructure must
have enough strength to defend itself.

 Why infrastructure resilience is needed?

Resiliency of infrastructure make it more sustainable, avoid unwanted risk and
reduce the magnitude and duration of disruptive events. Infrastructure resilience
must be ensured to save lifes and property damage. Resiliency is preparing
infrastructure to adapt to changing conditions. It requires not only careful
planning and reliance on predictive tools, but an understanding of the need to
continuously check how the infrastructure is operating during both short-term
and long-term threats. Ultimately, resilient infrastructure is designed to
anticipate and withstand risk, minimize vulnerability, and maximize useful life.
