1. Read this sentence out loud: After two whole weeks of hustling around the city, Erin
finally had all the material and support she needed to complete her novel.
2. Evaluate: Write your immediate reaction to the sentence.
3. Interpret: In a sentence or two, explain why you reacted the way you did.
4. Perceive: Identify which words or phrases of the sentence support your explanation.

Evaluate I’m happy for Erin.

Interpret I’m happy Erin finally was able to write again after spending so much time
working.
