Team Leadership Experiences and Goals

Leadership Experiences

-Providing a presentation of the differences and similarities between Physical Therapy, occupational
Therapy, and Adapted Physical Education to the school leadership group.

-Being a part of planning committee for school wide activities and events (summer festivals, winter
performances, school wide Olympics.

Leadership Goals

1. I will develop my leadership in accessing and Using Research to Improve Practice and
Student Learning

▪ GOAL: I will continue to pursue higher education


and collaborate with likeminded peers to
improve my teaching and student learning.
▪ RATIONALE: Education is ever evolving and if you
do not stay current with best practices, your
students will not be receiving the best possibly
education.
▪ NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are members of
learning communities.
▪ TLMD: Domain 2: Accesses and Uses Research to
Improve Practice and Student Learning.
▪ OBJECTIVE 1: Complete CSUF induction program
and develop relationships with peers to create an
open exchange of information and strategies.
(short term).
▪ OBJECTIVE 2: Enroll and complete the Master’s
program of Pedagogy at CSULB to further improve
my ability to access research and build
relationships with likeminded peer. (Long term)

2. I will develop my leadership in teaching/planning systematically and learning from


experience.

▪ GOAL: I will challenge and assess my lessons and


goals for each unit in the schoolyear and ask
colleagues to do the same.
▪ RATIONALE: The national Board of Professional
Teaching Standards states “Accomplished teachers
seek opportunities to cultivate their learning. As
savvy students of their own teaching, they know
the value of asking colleagues, administrators, and
other educators to observe them and offer
critiques of their instructional practices.” NBPTS
▪ NBPTS: Proposition 4: Teachers think
systematically about their practices and learn from
experience.
▪ TLMD: Domain 1: Fosters a Collaborative Culture to
Support Educator Development and Student
Learning.
▪ OBJECTIVE 1: Complete each unit plan 2 weeks
prior to its intended start date and provide a copy
to at least 1 colleague to look over and critique
(short term).
▪ OBJECTIVE 2: Create a teacher group where they
each provide their upcoming lesson to another
student in order to receive detailed feedback.
(Long term)

3. I will develop my leadership in Improving Instruction and Student Learning schoolwide

▪ GOAL: I will present the results and sources to a


researched based lesson to my colleagues to
improve student learning and share strategies to
do so.
▪ RATIONALE: I have a unique vantage point of the
students at my school as the lone Physical
Education teacher. Providing the teachers and
staff with my instructional strategies and the
modes in which student learn in my classes can
help them see student learning from a different
perspective and help them improve their own
instruction.
▪ NBPTS: Proposition 1: Teachers are committed to
their students and their learning.
▪ TLMD: Domain 4: Facilitates Improvements in
Instruction and Student Learning
▪ OBJECTIVE 1: I will improve instruction and
student learning schoolwide through my teacher
inquiry (short term).
▪ OBJECTIVE 2: I will implement (with the help of my
teachers and administration) a professional
learning environment where a different teacher
shares strategies or research at a meeting on a
monthly basis. (Long term)
