4) Our songs like the marriage song or the victory song are nothing
as compared to the song of the Skylark. The earthy songs are
vague and empty In front of the bird’s song.
5) The speaker’s mood changes in the last stanza. The speaker was
so far describing the beauty of the bird’s song but in the last
stanza the speaker seeks inspiration from the bird. Suddenly, we
find the poet sorrowful. In place of just praising the bird, the poet
wants to be like the bird. The poet feels that If he had a beautiful
voice like the bird then everyone would have listened to him. It
gives a hint, probably, the poet’s ideas are not liked by others so
he feels sorrowful and wants to be like the bird so that his
revolutionary ideas are valued by all.
