Abstrak

English scientific language is characterized with high abstraction as a linguistic device to theorizing.
Abstraction is identified with nominalization that shifts language expressions of congruent experiences
into abstract entities, as objects capable of classificationIndustrial waste pollution still occurs in small
leather tanning industrial areas. Pollution problems that arise include: chromium overflow, VOC (Volatile
Organic Compound) disposal, water use, leather waste, sulfide waste, high TSS (Total Suspended Solid),
overflow of oil and fat in waste, and high BOD (on line). ). The Kasin tanning factory, Malang already has
a Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) using the SBR (Sequential Bath Reactor) system technology. The
application of this technology in practice there are still shortcomings, namely when the components of
the tools used experience engine congestion while the total microbes are not balanced with the
accumulation of abundant waste, the system cannot operate properly so that it will result in an
imperfect waste treatment process. One alternative for waste treatment that can be combined with
existing techniques is bioremediation technology. The principle of application is easy, namely utilizing
the metabolic processes of microorganisms to remove toxic components from waste, so that the waste
is safe for the environment. One of the microorganisms that can be used is bacteria. Therefore, in this
study, the potential for indigenous bacteria from tannery waste is to be able to decompose organic
pollutants and any type of bacterial isolates that have the potential to hydrolyze fat, starch and protein.
The method used to solve research problems is descriptive-exploratory research with observation
techniques. In this study, the bacterial isolates found were tested for their ability to hydrolyze fat, starch
and protein, so that it could be seen how many isolates had lipolytic, amylolytic and proteolytic
potential. This is done on the basis of laboratory analysis that the highest component of tannery factory
waste is waste material that contains fat, protein and carbohydrates.
