UNDERSTANDING LEADERSHIP: THEORIES AND PRACTICES

Nelson G. Agoyaoy
Being an educational leader, we should be sensitive to the needs of our organization. We

should be required to empower our co-workers in order to achieve a common goal. We are a role

model to look up to in order to build future leaders; we are there to inspire people by displaying

excellent attitudes and behaviors. We must inspire people so that everyone is free to express

themselves. Empowering other people is one way to practice shared leadership.

Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all leadership style; as a fast-paced leader, we

must be adaptable to the demands of the group, establish solid relationships, and communicate

effectively. We should learn how to accept criticism of other people and use this as a room for

improvement. And lastly, we must be an inspiration to others in order for them to strive more.
