Description:- MORBOND 870 with HARDENER CT90 is a 2-component,


solvent free, reverse catalyzed, polyurethane laminating adhesive.

Application:- MORBOND 870 With HARDENER CT90 is ideal for laminate.


The recommended mix ratio for MORBOND 870 &
HARDENER CT90 is 100 parts by weight of the MORBOND
870 component with 80 parts by weight of the HARDENER
CT90 component.

100:70 Provides “HARD” bond to all substrate.


100:90 Provides “SOFT” bond to all substrate.

TYPICAL LAMINATES:

MORBOND 870 with HARDENER CT90 can be proceeding on all common solvent free
laminating machines. The viscosity stability depends on temperature and machine parameters. In
cans of longer machine stops (more the 30 min) a clearing of the application head is necessary.

MORBOND 870 & HARDENER CT90
LAMINATING ADHESIVE

APPLICATION:

MORBOND 870 & HARDENER CT90 should be applied using a machine designed specifically
for laminating with solvent free adhesives. The thermostatic temperature control on the metering
rollers, adhesive & hardener tanks as well as the coating roller, should be set to 30°C to 35°C.
The adhesive temperature should be checked with an infrared thermometer at regular interval, to
check that the temperature of the adhesive also remains at 30°C to 35°C.

NIPPING CONDITIONS:

Combine the adhesive coated web to the treated secondary web at between 35°C and 50°C.Low
temperature is recommended for HARDENER below 50 mic.

F.D.A. STATUS:

The composition of MORBOND 870 & HARDENER CT90 conforms to the positive list of
the American F.D.A. regulations, Chapter 21, Section 175-105 for laminating adhesives.

B.G.A. STATUS:

The composition of MORBOND 870 & HARDENER CT90 conforms to the positive list of the
German B.G.A. regulations, Section XXVIII, ‘Cross-linked polyurethanes as adhesives for
packaging materials’.

E.E.C. STATUS:

The individual monomers used in the manufacture of MORBOND 870 & HARDENER CT90
are listed in the Plastics Directive, Section 1, Part 1, ‘Authorized Monomers’.
