Middle Ages.

In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages or medieval period lasted approximately from the 5th to
the late 15th centuries. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and transitioned into
the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. English-speaking historians generally subdivide the
Middle Ages into three intervals: "Early", "High", and "Late"

The Early Medieval Ages is sometimes still called the Dark Ages. This age is often considered, to
begin with, the "fall of Rome".

High Middle Ages is sometimes referred to as the "flowering" of medieval society, thanks to an
intellectual renaissance in the 12th century. There was an explosion of stone castle-building and the
construction of some of the most magnificent cathedrals in Europe.

Late Middle Ages is on the end of the Middle Ages and can be characterized as a transformation
from the medieval world to the early modern one. Cataclysmic and awesome events are on the end
of the age and were interpreted as a signal of the end of the world.
