Global issue: Domestic violence and physical harassment of women by men

Literary text- little red cap by Duffy

Non- literary text- showing women with bruises all over body (by Lisa Donnelly)

 10 bullet points: The worldwide global issue I have picked is actual

maltreatment of ladies by men (domestic violence and physical
harassment). The literary text l picked is little red cap which underlines
more on this issue. It shows how a man actually mishandles and
physically abuses a young lady like a beast and how she gets damaged
subsequent to getting abused and manhandled by the man after so
often. This poem shows the series of occasions of how the young lady
was abused and genuinely tormented. I narrowed this poem because it
is best suitable for the global issue I have chosen. The non-literary text
I have used is a cartoon by Lisa Donnelly which shows a girl is
physically mistreated and shows bruises and scars all over her body.
 This story is about a girl who gets into a intimidate physical
relationship with an elder guy who is referred as a wolf and becomes
the monstrous figure who ultimately seduces and abuses her and
takes away her innocence. in this poem it shows the girl herself got
attracted to the man in the starting and wanted to explore what
sexual pleasure is. It is an inspiration from bedtime tale little red
riding hood. This story line takes off on a positive note for the girl
and slowly ends up with a dangerous and negative note for the
abuser and herself as she understands the whole world is full of
wolves and thus, she gets to learn a lesson of how she has to always
protect herself.’ What big eyes he had! What teeth! In the interval, I
made quite sure he spotted me Sweet sixteen, never been,
babe, waif, and bought me a drink ‘ this line shows that she was
herself sexually attracted to the man and went there by herself
without any forceful acts, the man had attracted her by his charm. I
chose this poem because Duffy went into the depth of the tale and
opened our eyes on cases of rape, physical abuse, sexual abuse and
harassment. It also shows the relationship of elderly guys with
nymphets. I also chose this because this text goes well with the global
issue, I have chosen which is physical abuse as we can see that girl is
physically abused and traumatized by the monster.

 I chose this non- literary text because this cartoon shows bruises,
scars and swollen body parts which were done by their intimate
partners which is a very big issue in the entire world. It shows the
level of inhumanity shown by the men. There is a feeling of distress
and bitterness all over which depicts how profoundly damaged she is
with urgent need of help. I chose this text because it shows the depth
analysis and relates to poem and also synchronises well with my
global issue

 The association between both the texts is that both are young ladies
and were truly and physically manhandled, abused and harassed by
their scare accomplices which prompted both of the young ladies to
get damaged and go profoundly in distress state. the global Issue
which I have picked is domestic violence and both these texts
depend on actual physical harassment done by their accomplices.

 In my point of view the girl is also at a fault in the beginning because

she was the one who wanted to be a babe and was the one who got
attracted to the elderly inhuman man. ‘What big eyes he had! What
teeth!
In the interval, I made quite sure he spotted me Sweet sixteen, never
been, babe, waif, and bought me a drink. This is the evidence from the
text to support my claim. The quote above I used for the support clearly
shows that the girl was herself physically and sexually attracted to the
wolf after looking at his gleaming features and personality. she made
herself look like a sixteen-year-old nymphet and showed a babe like
personality in front of him to attract him. It also shows that girl herself
wanted to experience sexual pleasure with the wolf.
 I argue that physical violence on women should be stopped because
these incidents leave long term trauma for the girls because of
which many of them go into depression and many try to kill their
own lives to avoid societal pressure. In my point of view all girls
should feel safe in the entire world and UN should take some
immediate actions to tackle this global issue has there are many less
girls up to only 14% who report the problem. I have the statistical
data to support my evidence which shows that only 14% of girls
report the problem to the police and the cartoon also signifies how
deeply hurt and mortified she is.

 I also claim that intimate partner violence should be stopped

immediately and the police should take strict actions on the partner
who have done this inhuman crime so that girls feel safe and
confident about what they wear and what they do. To support my
statement, I argue that if the injuries are grievous and mortifying
then the partner should be immediately jailed.

 According to me the global issue of domestic violence and physical

harassment is a very serious issue as it can play with a girl’s future
aspirations. If a girl gets physically or sexually abused her
confidence would fall down, she’ll have no privacy and thus she
wouldn’t be able to complete her goals. It is very important as after
being a victim of it the girl would get traumatized, go in a deep
shock of sorrow and would feel very low. In many cases the girl can
also commit suicide to avoid any more pressure from others thus
according to me the girls should be always be safe in the world,
have their own privacy and the ones who are responsible to do this
should be punished badly. By doing all these things globally all the
girls would feel themselves in a safer background and therefore
enjoy their life with peace.

 The two authors have bought up the worldwide issue of actual

maltreatment in various ways. Lisa Donnelly's non-abstract text
depended on an animation which showed the injuries (bruises,
scars etc.) on the young lady's face, it showed us how terrible the
injuries and signs of actual maltreatment can be and gave us like a
genuine image of a truly physically harassed women. The text
additionally gave statistics. For instance, it said only 14% of ladies
who got harassed have reported the cases to police because they
are too scared. The artistic text from Duffy went into the profundity
of the story and opened our eyes on instances of assault, actual
maltreatment, sexual maltreatment and provocation. It additionally
showed us the relationship of old folks with nymphets. This text
woke up and showed us how the results of getting physically
abused.
