FIVE PATTERNS OF SOCIAL

INTERACTION

 Exchange or Social Exchange

Camille helped her friend, Debbie, who went through a financial

problem because she lost her job due to the global pandemic. Camille decided
to lend her some money to help her get through the week. A few weeks later,
Camille lacked the money to pay for her electricity and water bills. Because of
Camille's solicitude, Debbie decided to pay her back and lend her some extra
cash for her bills.

 Cooperation

Trina's adviser decided to group their class into five groups. She was the
assigned leader for their school presentation. She figured that the best way to
get their work done efficiently is by assigning each member a specific task.
Every member participated and cooperated. As a result, they presented nicely
and got the best grade out of all the groups.

 Competition

Trishia joined a school declamation contest. She practiced really hard in

her spare time because she desired to win first place. On the day of the
competition, she competed with ten other competitors, which encouraged her to
do her best. She delivered her declamation piece beautifully, and Trishia won
the contest.
 Conflict

The opposing basketball team was called out for showing

unsportsmanlike conduct on the court. One of their players intentionally pushed
their opponent to impede their gameplay and garner points.

 Coercion

The class bully threatens his classmate to hit or physically assault her if
she does not give him her lunch money.
