At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Answer a crossword puzzle for vocabulary.
2. Discuss the poem “The man with the Hoe”.
3. Write the political, economic and moral implication of the poem.

b. Draw the social structure.
c. What do you mean with political, economic and moral?
3. Motivation
The teacher will post a weighing scale on the board, which is not properly or equally weighed. She
will ask the students about the things which are usually weighed. Afterwards, she will put a picture of a
wealthy man on the higher side and a laborer on the lower side, which will reveal social injustice. Also
relating the line, “Tinimbang ka Ngunit Kulang”.

Showing the picture of the man with the hoe with a comic balloon, the students will give lines that they want to
put on the blank balloon of the man.
