3. Checking of Attendance

Checking of attendance will be

automatic recorded through the
use of extension “Google Meet

every time you’re going to come
in and out that will be monitored
and recorded. Okay!

4. Virtual Classroom Rules

Now let me remind you again

the virtual classroom rules;
▪ First is FIND A
QUITE PLACE –
where you can focus
more in class
discussion.
▪ Second is BE ON
TIME – wake up early,
turn into class a few
minutes before it
begins!
▪ Third is KEEP
YOURSELF MUTED
– stay on mute if
you’re not talking.
▪ Fourth is KEEP
YOU’RE CAMERA
ON – when you are
saying something.
▪ Fifth is
PARTICIPATE
ACTIVELY – tap the
raise hand icon, if you
want to say something.
▪ Sixth is GET READY
TO LEARN – have
your materials ready
such as; notebook, pen
headphones, android or
laptop, and charger
also.

OTHERS – be
respectful with your
words and actions.
▪ Lastly is HAVE FUN
AND DO YOUR
BEST! – try your best,
I got your back!

B. Review

Now let us have some recap, about

our previous discussion. This
activity is a CROSSWORD
PUZZLE. Entitled “You can find
me in the circle” The instruction is
you need to use the figure clues that
is already given to solve the puzzle.

1. Down

ANGLE Ma’am.
Very Good!

2. Across

That’s DIAMETER Ma’am.

correct!

3. Down

Good Job! RADIUS Ma’am.

4. Across

Very good! ARC Ma’am.

5. Across

Great job, CHORD Ma’am.

that’s correct!

C. Motivation

Okay now, let us move on to the next

activity. Let us assess your
knowledge. So, this activity is a story
with a twist. And I am the one who
will narrate and voice over in this
story. So, I need you to listen
carefully.

Once upon a time, there was a girl

named Ana who resides in rural
region of Hagonoy. Ana is a chef and
she owns a restaurant that serves
fresh seafoods in her town.
One day, Ana doesn't have enough
stock of seafoods for her restaurant.
Then she listed all the seafoods that
she needed on that day. And the
place where she could buy all of this
seafood is located in Hagonoy public
market.

Later on, she finally arrived in the

place as they commonly called as
"Pundohan", then went straight to
Mang Jude Store where those
seafoods were available

Mang Jude: Hi Ana, how may I help

you?

Ana: Hello Mang Jude! I need all the

seafoods listed here please.

Mang Jude: Sure, but before you buy

all of these is you need to answer 6
questions. Is that clear?

Ana: Sure, Mang Jude. No problem!

Q1. It is all points in the same plane

that lie at an equal distance from a
center point.
CIRCLE Ma’am.

Correct!
Q2. It is an angle formed by two rays
whose vertex is the center of a circle.
CENTRAL ANGLE.

Very good!

Q3. It is a line segment joining two

points on the circle.
CHORD.
That’s correct!

Q4. It is a chord that passes through

the center.
DIAMETER.
Very good!
Q5. It is a part of circle from any of
its points denoted by
“ ”. ARC.

Alright, that’s correct!

Q6. It is an angle formed by two rays

whose vertex is the circumference of
the circle. INSCRIBED ANGLE.

Correct!

Ana wants to say something to you

guys. She said…

Ana: Thank you Grade 10 mulawin

for your help. See you at my
restaurant!

D. Lesson Proper

So, what is circle?

______, can you please read the

definition? A circle is a set of all points in a
plane and a fixed distance from a
given point called CENTER.

Thank you____.

In geometry, circle it is a perfectly

round shape. Which has a fixed
point called as the CENTER and it
has a constant distance from the
center called RADIUS.
And a circle is named by its center
and using this symbol ʘ.

For example, the name of this circle

is “CIRCLE B”.

Next is chord.

A chord is a line that joined two

points on the circle.

And the diameter is a line segment

that passes through the center of the
circle. Okay!

The chord and the diameter are

named using two capital letters and
denoted by this symbol “ ”.

̅̅̅̅̅.
For example, in CHORD 𝑀𝑁
DIAMETER 𝐷𝐸 ̅̅̅̅ .

Okay, Arc is a part of a circle from

any point. Denoted by “ ”.

We have here a classification of arcs.

The first one is MINOR ARC - an

arc whose measure is less than 𝟏𝟖𝟎°.
It is named using two capital letters.

The next one is SEMICIRCLE - an

arc whose measures equals to 𝟏𝟖𝟎°.
It is named using three capital letters.

Lastly, a MAJOR ARC - an arc

whose measure is greater than 𝟏𝟖𝟎°.
It is named using three capital letters.

Now, that you’re already aware of

the classification of the arcs.

An angle of a circle is can be formed

through the help radii and chords.
And in naming an angle of a circle
we use this symbol ∠ to describe an
angle.

We have here 2 types of angle of a

circle.

The first one is, CENTRAL ANGLE

- is formed between two radii, and its
vertex lies at the center of the circle.
It is named using three capital letters.
And the second one is, INSCRIBED
ANGLE - is formed between two
chords whose vertex lies in a
circumference of a circle. It is named
using one capital letter.

Lastly it is not an angle but it is

formed when there is an angle and
that is an INTERCEPTED ARC - is
an arc whose endpoints are the two
points of intersection of an angle. It
is named using two capital letters.

Okay, now let’s continue to last part

of our discussion before we proceed
to another activity.

The degree measure of an arc. We

have three classification of arcs that
I’ve mentioned earlier right?

So, the first-degree measure is about

minor arc.

A minor arc is equal to the measure

of its central angle.

The second – degree measure is

about major arc.
A major arc is equal to 360° minus
the measure of the minor arc with
the same endpoints.

Like for example.

Lastly, degree measure of

semicircle is 180°.

E. APPLICATION

Ana arrived on her restaurant but

she found out that she needs a help
so that she can cook all the seafoods
on her menu for her restaurant.
Ana need a help to cook all the
seafoods that she bought for her
restaurant.

Ana: Hi I need your help to cook all

of this, by answering the two
activities that contained questions,
so that I can cook quickly.

So, our first activity is …

1. RADIUS
2. DIAMETER
3. CHORD
4. MINOR ARC
5. SEMICIRCLE
6. CENTRAL ANGLE
7. INSCRIBED ANGLE
8. MAJOR ARC
And the second activity is… 9. Circle G

1. TRUE
2. TRUE
3. FALSE
4. FALSE
5. FALSE
6. FALSE
Ana wanted to thank you again for
your cooperation with her.

F. GENERALIZATION

Well done! Class you did great today!
