Introduction to On-premise data gateway and ISE

On-premise data gateway

The on-premises data gateway provides secure data transfer between on-premises data sources and
your Azure services in the cloud

Gateway works with following Azure services

• Azure logic apps

• Power BI

• Power Apps

• Microsoft flow

• Azure Analysis services

Gateway High availability
• Use high availability clusters of on-premise data gateway to avoid single point failure in your
integration

• Once a gateway cluster consists of two or more gateways, all gateway management operations,
such as adding a data source or granting administrative permissions to a gateway, apply to all
gateways that are part of the cluster.
Integration service environment
Integration service environment enables your logic apps to interact with resources that are deployed
in Azure virtual network. Creating an ISE deploys a private and isolated logic apps into your Azure
Virtual Network

• ISE will use dedicated services such as storage, and runs separately from global public logic app
service

• When you create a logic app, you select this environment as you app’s location

• ISE Logic apps can use same built actions and connectors of public logic app service and also
you can use ISE specific connectors

• For connectors that offer two versions, Connectors with ISE label always run in the same ISE
as your logic app
