1. If you were given a chance to have your own business in the field of tourism industry, what would it
be and why. Explain. Cite an example and provide pictures. (travel agency, hotel, resort, etc.)

The business that I would like to be my own business in the field of tourism industry is probably
going to be a hotel because of its cozy aesthetics and it is somewhat welcoming to have a hotel because
you need to take care of everything to make sure that the people who availed their stay could have an
excellent, relaxing, and stress-free time. It is usually profitable if the hotel is located at a place wherein
there are a lot of tourists visiting and needs a place to stay, so that they could easily see it and book a
stay in the hotel. For example, I will open up a hotel with a restaurant and a penthouse would be also
ideal, because people can order food without having to spend a night if there is some apparent reason
that they only wanted to have dinner or have a good night at the penthouse.

2. Is it important to do a market research before opening a tourism business? Why or why not?

If I were to open a tourism business, I would definitely make use of a market research because I
think that it is very important because it can help the business to be certain of what type of tourism
business you are going to put up because of the differences of tastes and way of life of a specific area or
country. I think that a market research is a must for a tourism business to identify its market, to develop
a strategy to make the business successful, to know what the competitors are lacking, and to provide
what are the needs of the market the business is entering. A market research can also help select
suitable sales promotional techniques based on the wants and interest of a specific market. A market
research can expose opportunities that can be obtained and accomplished when planned well, it also
provides technical and factual data so that you can adjust accordingly.
